There is more than one gene responsible for skin color. The genes of white skin color are activated in the white man while those of the black are inactive.

Leo Quinn, a black NASA expert, used this to invent a ray that could make recessive genes for skin color dominant.

Before 2049, white supremacists gained full control in the southern states of America and formed the New Confederate States, still without seceding from the Union. They deported the Blacks to Africa and lynched those who resisted. It was then that Quinn started his project that could change history.

Quinn knew that the majority of the Whites refused racism. But his philosophy of collective punishment was that they, too, deserved it as they chose silence when injustice was practiced against others, not themselves.

When the test on himself worked and he became white, Quinn broadcasted the ray from a tiny satellite to the South while they were preparing to celebrate Liberty Day after the last cargo of deported Blacks would leave Charleston. Whites began to transform into Blacks, and then the cases spread like wildfire until the entire South turned into a black nation.

Quinn became the last white man in the South. And when the FBI knew who he was, a wolf hunt ran after him to discover what spared his skin color in the hope of finding the cure.
