Alex Behr is the author of ANIMAL KINGDOM: STORIES, GRIEF STICK, and PLANET GRIM: STORIES. Her writing has been published widely, including in Salon, Oregon Humanities, The Rumpus, and Tin House. She teaches creative writing workshops at Literary Arts and elsewhere, and plays bass guitar and piano. She's received awards for her writing and grant support for multimedia and film projects. The short documentary Grief Stick, directed and edited by Brian Padian and produced by Behr, features Behr's poetry, music, and videos as it chronicles the arc of love and death. ...more
