Why I wrote my first novel, Eve’s Destiny
Many people have asked me, “What made you decide to write a novel?” “Have you always wanted to be an author?” The fact is, becoming a writer wasn’t something that I ever thought of doing. Having the capability to express myself on paper did not come naturally to me, but I’m the type of person who likes to challenge myself to accomplish things that seem too daunting. I had to work very diligently to improve that skill and eventually, I became very accomplished in writing 50-page research papers in college and graduate school.
It wasn’t until many years later that I even considered writing beyond school assignments. Since I have a creative side, I decided to up the ante and attempt to write a novel. To produce an entire storyline filled with characters that I, alone, created. If I could do that, it would be amazing. What an accomplishment that would be. A true test of how far I had come with my writing ability and to become a published author!
I just had to decide what type of novel to produce. I admit it, I’m a hopeless romantic and I truly believe that there is someone out in the world for everyone to share their life with as long as you’re open to finding that special person. I’ve always been an avid reader of romance and action books, so it stood to reason that I should write a Contemporary Romance novel, thus the birth of Eve’s Destiny.
In Eve’s Destiny, Eve Townsend and Detective Michael McGarrett are drawn to each other and are fated to experience a great love. In the beginning, new relationships can be all hearts and flowers, but like all relationships, they eventually face challenges. I wanted to create a story that portrayed not only the circumstances of how a couple fell in love but also how they would handle trials and tribulations that could potentially threaten their newfound relationship, and hopefully come out of the other side together and intact. How do couples deal with tragedy, misunderstandings, lies, hurt or fear of abandonment? Can they survive without being in each other’s lives and will they make their way back to each other, their one true love?
Eve’s Destiny is the first book in a series and throughout the series, Mike and Eve face some of these challenges and are forced to tackle questions and discover the answers in order to preserve their destiny. So fall in love with the characters of Eve’s Destiny and continue to follow Mike and Eve’s journey as they navigate their love story.

Cover Reveal: Eve’s Destiny
Do I have a treat for you today! I’m going to unveil the cover of my debut romance novel, Eve’s Destiny — the first in my Mike and Eve series.
Eve Townsend is a gifted artist and architect at Colby Designs San Francisco office but she’s always felt that something was missing from her life. Because of her success, she is promoted to Manager of the Design department, but the position is located at Colby’s New York City branch. Being strong-willed and independent, Eve makes the decision to move across the country, leaving behind her friends and the life she always knew.
Everything seems to be going Eve’s way when she meets a handsome police NYPD detective, Michael McGarrett. Mike and Eve’s eyes lock and their chemistry is evident as they are instantly drawn to each other. Mike and his partner are on the hunt for suspected criminal, Lucas Coles. Eve informed the detectives that Lucas was recently fired and unfortunately had no clue to his current whereabouts.
Unexpectedly, Eve is caught in the cross-fire when Lucas returns to Colby Designs on a shooting rampage. Her career move should have been Eve’s chance of a lifetime and she never expected it to threaten her life. Will Mike locate and rescue Eve in his usual heroic fashion and will they get their happy ending?
Sounds good, right? And now — the cover!

Eve’s Destiny – Excerpt
An excerpt from my upcoming novel, Eve’s Destiny:
Finally, Mike saw Eve’s name on the wall. This must be her office. But when he glanced inside, she wasn’t there. Fear tightened his body, and he was all too aware of the knot forming in his stomach. Where was she? He calmed his nerves, relaxed his body and refocused his attention on the immediate threat, locating and subduing the shooters, and then he would find Eve.
Once they reached the end of the hallway, Mike peered around the corner and spotted the gunman, who he recognized as the man they were looking for that very morning, Lucas Coles, and he was alone…
