Author Brian O’Sullivan is from a strange place called ‘nowhere is home.’ The reason being is that he spent parts of his childhood living in both England and Ireland, during which time those around him forgot to mention where he was from. He’s called New York City home for most of his adulthood. Upon moving to the city in 1986, he joined up with other Irish men doing construction work and indulging in nights of debauchery. O’Sullivan has struggled with severe injuries, as well as trauma from his harsh childhood. He underwent seventeen sessions of electroshock therapy and has had 40 ketamine infusions in an effort to conquer his demons.
