Tiffany Smead worked in the home healthcare industry for five years caring for the elderly during which time she stood with clients, friends, and family members as they prepared to take their final breaths here on this earth.

She now works as a Publisher at Awkward Paws Publishing, the children's division of Forgemachine Publications, and works closely with fellow author, Grant Uchida, and illustrator, James Ishizaki.

She is current writing a bilingual children's book series called The Adventures of Everest the Elephant, which will be published by Awkward Paws Publishing in English alongside either Spanish, French, or German. ...more

The point is that I d…moreSometimes, I write a different scene. Sometimes, I write something absolutely atrocious just to get past that point in the story.

The point is that I don't have to write gold. I just need to break that wall with words even if it's a barrage of tiny pellets. Eventually, that wall is coming down. All the gold comes during my edits, where I rearrange bits and pieces so that everything flows right.

As long as I remember that fear of failure is the only block in my way, then there's no stopping me. No one else needs to see my pile of unused words, and each sentence is only a stepping stone to something better.(less)
