Dr. Alford received his doctorate in public, constitutional, and international law from the University of South Africa. He recently published a book based upon his research, Permanent State of Emergency: The Demise of the Rule of Law in the United States with McGill-Queens University Press. http://www.mqup.ca/permanent-state-of...

Prior to that, he was awarded his master’s degree from the University of Oxford and his law degree from New York University. He was called to the bar of Ontario and is an attorney and counselor-at-law of the state of New York.
