“Now lets see the messaging of the Suthiram. Inhale through the left nostril for 16 maathirai. He uses the phrase “ஈரெட்டு,” which translates to “two times eight.” Vamam means left nostril. For counting sixteen maathirai one could use the word “ஓம் நமசிவாய” (“Om Namasivaya”). The letters in ‘om’ is add up to two maathirai in total. So, Na = 1, ma = 1, si = 1, va = 2 (this is a long sounding ‘a’); ya=1 plus “om” together amounts to 8 maathirai in total. So, for inhalation chant this word in your mind (not opening the mouth) two times. The number of times we repeat the chant is counted with fingers.”

“The mind can transcend to the higher order and higher consciousness to the Vignanamaya kottam. Mind can interact with the higher consciousness to receive or send information. This sharing can be with those having a similar wavelength or thought process or nobility. The collective wisdom or consciousness could also be referred to as Arul. It is omnipresent. Including just in our vicinity, around us.”

“Many Sithars believed in reincarnation; it is adopted by Hindus in general. A classical poem by a great poetess, Avvaiyaar, signifies how hard it is to be born as humans (அரிதரிது மானிடர் ஆதல் அரிது). Even difficult would be to be born as a human without disabilities. Even without disabilities it is harder to be wise and educated. Even while wise and educated harder is to be charitable and do penance. If one is charitable and performs penance, then the heaven is wide open to them.”
