“Many Sithars believed in reincarnation; it is adopted by Hindus in general. A classical poem by a great poetess, Avvaiyaar, signifies how hard it is to be born as humans (அரிதரிது மானிடர் ஆதல் அரிது). Even difficult would be to be born as a human without disabilities. Even without disabilities it is harder to be wise and educated. Even while wise and educated harder is to be charitable and do penance. If one is charitable and performs penance, then the heaven is wide open to them.”
