Operation GT in process
Wow, what a year so far! Coronavirus hit in early March and along with it came months of quarantine. The good news is that my third book, Operation GT is in its 2nd draft! It is now off to my critique partners (as of the end of June), so the rest of the summer will be spent editing based on their comments. I am truly thankful for my CPs - Jennifer, Julia, Jeanne, and Ethan. Their advice and support is invaluable. I hope to begin the query process by the end of August and hopefully find an agent by the end of 2020.
Stay tuned for my details about Operation GT - a middle grade contemporary set in Guyana!

SCBWI Mid-Atlantic Conference
Last weekend I attended my very first writers conference and it was fantastic! The SCBWI Mid-Atlantic conference was a mix of authors and illustrators and I was lucky enough to win a grant to participate. The intensive with a literary agent and a professional critique was included and was truly invaluable. I couldn't take notes fast enough!
I left energized, grateful and incredibly glad that I attended.
I am thrilled to be a part of such a nurturing group and look forward to getting more involved.

Reviews...reviews...reviews...
Reviews...all authors want and need them but boy are they tough to get. I have recently submitted Lost in Time to the Historical Novel Society for a review. Fingers crossed! Also thinking about submitting to a few contests. I've heard they are a great way to get more exposure, if you win of course. Finding them is of course the trick.L.G. McFerren

Lost in Time
So I've completed and published Lost in Time and now I've started the marketing and promotion end of things. I've given away copies of the book to friends, family, colleagues and even through an Amazon giveaway but now I need reviews! Reviews have proven illusive. I get great verbal feedback but its hard to get folks to translate it to a written review but I'm not giving up!
I've joined the No. Virginia Writers Club and I've started Lost in Time, Book 2. I'm still trying to decide where to send Ben on his next adventure. I'm thinking about medieval England (knights and all) or the French Revolution.
Let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear your suggestions!
