Joost Baars (1975) is dichter en essayist. Zijn eerste bundel 'Binnenplaats' verscheen in 2017 bij Uitgeverij Van Oorschot, na enkele publicaties in tijdschriften en een chapbook ('iemand anders'). 'Binnenplaats' werd lovend ontvangen en bekroond met de VSB Poëzieprijs 2018. De bundel is inmiddels toe aan zijn vijfde druk.

Joost Baars (1975) is a poet and essayist from the Netherlands. His first full blown collection 'Binnenplaats' (Enclosure) was published, to great acclaim, by Uitgeverij Van Oorschot in 2017, and was awarded with the VSB Poetry Prize, the biggest poetry prize for a single collection in The Netherlands.
