Beyond the 9-5

I went to the bank with a royalty check I received for .57 cents. Yup, you read that right .57 cents. The bank teller couldn't fathom working so hard for so little. She joked about writers being 'starving artists' and 'dying breeds' or 'waiting for the movie...'
She then told me how my hours as an author must be wonderful, never having to follow the 9-5 rigmarole of a normal life.

For as gripping Tender Is The Flesh was, this collection of short stories falls short of anything a reader can connect to. I truly struggled to make it through it.
