Counting down

Yes, it is almost time! Atoned, Chronicles of Calan Book V, is in the final formatting and editing stages and will be released very shortly. I know this one has been so long in coming and, as an apology for making you wait, I am posting a short excerpt from this new book. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Kyreen stood, giving in to her desire for more alcohol. Before she could grab the bottle, however, Rhun was beside her, his own hand wrapped around the neck of the...

Banished is out!

[image error]As I sit in the Denver airport, waiting to board a plane for this weekend’s getaway, I can barely believe that I’ve finally reached the end of this book. So much has happened since Marked was published last spring. The ebook of Banished can be found here on Amazon, and I plan on getting the physical book finalized in the next month. When I started this manuscript I worried if I had enough material for a full-length novel so imagine my surprise when I compiled everything to discover it is my l...

Update and more

Edits on Banished continue and the finish line is in sight. I am having fun with these edits, revisiting and rediscovering parts of the story I wrote so many months ago, before we sold our house, before we moved across country, before I began my new job. When I first outlined the chapters at the beginning of 2018, I had worried that it might be a struggle to reach my goal of 100,000 words. With about 1/4 left to edit, the word count is already over 130,000, so I am very happy about that. In a...

Publication Announcement

On the eve of my self-imposed deadline to publish Book 4, Banished, I am instead writing this blog post to announce a delay. Since Book 3, Marked, was published in March, life has been a veritable roller coaster ride with a new day job, a cross-country move, and the death of my dearest friend. The first two halted the actual writing this past spring as my brain went into problem-solver, analytical, get-the-job-done mode and all creativity went out the window. But it was the very unexpected di...

Banished Cover Reveal

Time is ticking down and life has attempted to get in the way of this book’s publication. I will expand on that a little more in the coming weeks as we approach release date, still slated for November 30th.

Today’s post, however, is all about the cover and the incredible artwork of Ryann Armstrong from Keylligraphy Ink!

So, without further ado, dear reader, take a look at the cover of Banished, and  if you’ve read any or all of the previous books, please leave me a review on Amazon!

As always...

Banished blurb

I can’t believe how close this is getting! Banished, Chronicles of Calan, Book IV, is scheduled for release on November 30, 2018. Here’s another partial peek at the cover and the blurb for the book…

Centuries ago elves left the realm of humans to fade into myths and legends. Two decades ago Kyreen’s twin brother was taken to the mystical elf lands. Now Kyreen leaves everything familiar behind her to cross realms in search of her twin, venturing into the unknown, hoping to find answers to her...

Book 4 Update

It has been a while since my last update and here we are about eleven weeks to go until Banished is released. So much has happened since Marked was published this past spring. The biggest event was taking a new job and relocating my family across country. Admittedly it put a hamper on the creative process. So, even though I am still writing new content, we are almost ready for the first round of edits and the publication date is not moving. Banished will be released on November 30th.

But the...

Release Day!

Release day! Wow, it feels wonderful and surreal to type those two words! The third book in the Chronicles of Calan series, Marked, has been released into the wild and is available on Amazon. As a self-published author, this is a relief on a couple of levels. First, it means I met my release deadline, a big step for a procrastinator such as myself. But more importantly for me from a creator stand point, it means I can get back to my desk, my notebook, my ink pen, and Kyreen. I have not writte...
