Hala Alzaghal is a Jordanian writer and English teacher. After living in California for several years, she went back to Jordan to continue her studies and received a bachelor’s degree in French language and Literature from the University of Jordan. She attended a creative writing course in university, in which her texts stood out, consequently increasing her passion for writing. Using it as an outlet, after years of the ongoing battle against depression and on growing anxiety, she published her first book; a memoir titled I Made a Mother out of May, in 2017 as an eBook in which she documents her personal struggles with many aspects of life (depression, oppression, physical pain, mental pain, loss, desire, love, and sexuality)
