Neal Ritter earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Arkansas in 1978, followed by postdoctoral work in neuropsychology. Over a decades-long career, he held clinical leadership roles, taught and supervised developing clinicians, and maintained a private practice in which he was jury qualified as an expert witness in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology across seven states.
His practice addressed a wide range of issues, from mood instability to parenting challenges, anxiety to relationship conflict—often in the same day. These experiences, along with a deep sense of gratitude for all he had been given, eventually led him to begin writing after retirement.

With one hand, I was rocking the rocking horse. But out of several gifts, my attention was directed toward a picture book.

I don't pre-plan. I have a multiple-page list of authors whose books I've read with titles and corresponding ratings. When it's time, I look at what's available and choose between a favored, familiar author and one with a book description that catches my eye. Truth be told, I'm the kind of guy who reads cereal labels and anything else in my line of vision. Send me a message, and I promise I'll read it.(less)

He drew me into the idealistical world of Atlantis where, at least as I remember, there was freedom from ordinary societal restraints. I love nothing more than a book that can become my temporary reality and allow me to consider things anew.(less)
