MUSIC & CONSCIOUSNESS
Excerpt from the book:
SOUND—The Fabric of Soul, Consciousness, Reality, and the Cosmos
Of all technologies and modes of energy we possess, music is one of the most effective mediums for harmonizing thoughts, emotions, and soul energy into reality. As an extension of physical reality, music is an essential vibration of consciousness that precedes every human advances. Every musical period gives rise to its distinct consciousness. It is precisely this mental and emotional energy generated by music that informs and translates into social, political, cultural, economic, religious, and other manifestations of intangible reality. These energies form the very fabric of human-induced reality. We often overlook the contributions of music and focus instead on technological innovations, scientific, political, economic, social, and other mediums as measure of human society and its progress. We forget that all these expressions of human consciousness are sound. These energies pale in comparison to music.
Music: The Complete Medium of Reality
Music is the most complete and emotionally impactful medium of reality. It provides a coherent energy that harmonizes all the subtle vibrations of thought and emotion into the fabric of human reality. The emotional content of music gives rise to powerful subtle energies of the heart, reaching the soul dimension of our essence. Once music becomes part of our souls’ vibration, its energy expands into the cosmic realm. Thus, music is the doorway into the higher dimension of both human consciousness and the soul. It is the most fundamental energy for synchronizing and harmonizing the human soul into qualities of consciousness—the very energy that gives rise to new human realities.
Humanity as a whole has yet to understand the true nature of music. Music is not an entertainment medium, but a medium of entrainment—vibrational entrainment. As a harmonized set of frequencies, music is a simple and yet complex event. Once present, it unifies all within its reach and sets powerful energies in motion and on their way to physical manifestation. An extension of the cosmos, music accesses the higher dimension of our being and of the universe, where reality is formed.
Although its audible qualities may seem passive to the listener, its effects are active and extremely powerful in shaping our thoughts, emotions, languages, attitudes, mental temperaments, intellect, and ultimately our consciousness, and our souls. In essence, music is a pre-reality vibration that entrains the human consciousness and soul at every step of its evolution. We can trace every period of human progress or regress by listening to the music that feeds the consciousness of the period.
Music is literally vibrations of reality at the audible level. It propagates into the physical world as it cycles into the light spectrum. These vibrations also represent the consciousness that creates the human reality—a product of thoughts, emotions, actions, and so on. As they oscillate and multiply, they become the primal tones of the societies/communities they form. This is the power and secret of music in encoding consciousness for the formation of human reality. It is an energy medium that gives life to new societies.
There is no other medium of expression that is able to capture the complete frequencies of human emotion, thought, language, hope, aspirations—the full spectrum of vibrations manifested by humans—more precisely than music. With music, we’re able not only to record current reality, but also to encode future realities. We document life, while we co-create the future. Using music, we’re able to imbue the time horizon with realities far into the future in ways that no other medium can achieve. This encoding is done by way of tone, message, rhythm, emotion, and soul energy, all primal vibrations for the propagation of human reality.
Music is more than a communication medium; it is a soul-level medium delivering energy and information to the human heart and consciousness. Beyond transmitting information in a sonic and rhythmic package, music delivers one of the highest and purest emotional energies of any other medium of communication. Often, the emotional energy and information generated by music is so great that listeners lose consciousness. This happens frequently when listeners are exposed to live performances where their main sensory faculties, audio and visual, are overloaded with sound and imagery (sound in the form of light) beyond their physical and emotional capacities.
A Medium of Higher Reality
When we listen to music, we are witnessing a frozen reality, one fixed in both frequency and time. It takes the human consciousness, emotion, and the soul to give it new life and meaning. While we provide music with infinite life force, it provides us with a higher medium to access our souls and the cosmos. By accessing the human mental, heart, and soul forces, music takes on a new journey through the living cosmos within and without. The cosmos within is the mind, heart, and soul. The cosmos without is the outer universe.
The full spectrum of energy delivered by music is yet to be completely understood. There are higher levels of energy within music that are inaudible to the human ear. These higher levels of sound transmission take place in the frequencies beyond the human hearing range. When we’re exposed to music, it’s not only our minds that vibrate with the sound; our bodies’ entire cellular structures absorb the vibration and vibrate with the sound at different levels of frequency. Beyond the physical, our etheric, astral bodies, and our souls also vibrate with the resonances (overtones) generated by music, capturing its vibrations at higher-frequencies.
Added to these vibrational resonances is the emotional charge carried by music, which further multiplies the effects of music upon our being. The emotional charge creates the link between physical reality and higher dimensions of reality, accessing multiple dimensions of our being. Since nature, including human beings, is made of sound vibration, sound, especially music, becomes the teleportation device that facilitates living matter to traverse different planes of existence. This helps to explain the use of music in spiritual ceremonies both in established religions and traditional faiths. Music is the link between the emotional, psychological, and the causal planes of human presence. It facilitates the transmission of the kinds of information and qualities of consciousness that lead to social, cultural, economic, political, and ultimately, societal changes.
Shaping the Future Through Music
We are living in an era where music has become the most consumed element of our expression. We can hardly live a single day without listening to music from our phones, iPods, televisions, radios, the Internet, and so on. Given this reality, it is crucial that humanity begins to awaken to the real power of music, especially its subtle energetic capacity to entrain our souls into future realities. Our personal realities are greatly impacted by the message and sonic qualities of the music we listen to. In fact, every song that we listen to pushes the boundaries of our perceived and manifested reality. It also impacts the quality of our emotions and consequently our moods, our relationships, and our overall interactions with the world around us.
In order to meet the challenges facing humanity, we, the musicians, must be the first group of creators to realize that we have co-creative powers over the consciousness of our listeners. We must become aware of the nature of sound as an element of reality through human essences of soul and consciousness. Humanity, as a whole, needs to awaken to the real potential embedded in music. Our attention to, and consumption of music should be matched by an equal awareness of the power of music in shaping our individual and collective reality. We can no longer afford to treat music as an art form, only useful for entertainment, while it is shaping our soul, consciousness, and the very society materializing in front of us. After all, we are living music.

SOUND AND SOCIETY
SOUND PLAYS a critical role in the formation of our values, cultures, consciousness, and ultimately, our societies. The entire core beliefs of peoples and nations are nothing more than accumulated sounds in the form of ideas recorded and passed on from one generation to another. Whether these ideas are stored in libraries or are verbally recounted as stories, legends, and tales by one generation of elders to their offspring, they are part of the sound envelope that forms both material and immaterial human realities.
In fact, when we analyze different periods in human history, we arrive at the inevitable correlation between ideas and civilization. While the conversation, music, speech, literary work, art, science, technology, politics, hopes, aspirations, and so on give rise to ideas, the ideas form the fabric of the consciousness of the time. This creative consciousness in turn becomes the engine that propagates all elements of human reality. In the end, human civilization is an expression of the sounds emitted by the minds and the hearts of a people.
THOUGHTS
The human reality of an individual is created by the person’s own vibrational energy, which is made up of their thoughts, emotions, and deeds. These three elements form the essential vibrations that set all human realities into motion. At the first level, thoughts emanate from the mind, a field of energy generated by the brain, whose properties are beyond its electromagnetic quality. Although existing within their separate domain, thoughts are the engines that spark creation. They are the medium creating free energy within the human being. They can range from harmonious to completely erratic. Thoughts have no boundaries or limitations. The human mind is designed to think freely and openly. As such, thoughts represent one of the infinite dimensions of the human being.
EMOTIONS
Yet thoughts alone are not enough to create reality. They must be united with the emotional frequencies of the heart—the center of the soul, feelings, and cosmic intelligence—in order for them to ascend into a living field within the human being and the cosmos.
The heart constitutes a separate paradigm within the human energy field. With its emotional and soul energies, the heart forms a higher-frequency dimension that renders the vitality of life to thoughts. Once energized by the heart, thoughts rise to this second paradigm of human energy to become living ideas with capacity to engage the body of its creator and that of others. Unlike the electromagnetic waves of the mind, which can be recorded and charted, the emotional vibrations of the heart cannot be recorded using our most advanced instruments. These frequencies are beyond the electrical impulses we record with our electrocardiogram machines.
CONSCIOUSNESS
As thoughts are constantly emotionalized into ideas or beliefs, consciousness continuously evolves. This higher frequency made of thoughts, emotions, beliefs, hopes, and aspirations forms a powerful set of waves that are the building blocks of our societies. They are the vibrations that give rise to our relationships, family units, and societal institutions, such as our governments, legal systems, political parties, educational and cultural institutions, civic and nonprofit organizations, and corporations. These invisible, inaudible sounds manifest daily into cities, houses, roads, schools, churches, stadiums, skyscrapers, automobiles, planes, trains, laptops, books, and so on. These elements of our society are essentially the lower-frequency domains of our thoughts and emotions—our consciousness.
HUMAN REALITIES
Human societies initiate their journeys in the mind and cross into the physical realm through our heart forces of emotions, consciousness, and ultimately our souls. We create them. We give them life through our heart forces and soul forces. Suddenly, when they appear in the physical realm, we’re surprised to see them. This is because we forget that we created these societies in the invisible side of our realities—our minds, hearts, and souls. In essence, our consciousness and our heart/soul emotional frequencies generate resonances across the cosmic plane, harmonizing with the wave structures of the cosmos to form our realities.
Take the building of a house as an example. A house first starts as a thought. Then it passes through the heart for encoding into an idea. As an idea, the house now engages the soul and becomes omnipresent in the cosmos. We call this level of engagement a commitment, or sustained attention, belief, plan, or vision. At this stage, the house only exists within the invisible realm of reality.
The mind, working with the heart forces of emotion and the soul, develops all the necessary steps to bring the idea into physical reality. Once the soul engages the body’s will, the house begins to cross into the physical domain as people are hired, lumber is acquired, and construction is initiated. Soon the house appears as a standing property ready for occupancy. For most people, this latter stage is the point at which they recognize and register the presence of the house. However, the house was in existence way before its physical manifestation. In fact, even at this last stage of physical presence, the house still remains a vibration. In reality, from the inception of the thought all the way to its physical appearance, the house has always remained the same—a vibration. Its only change is one of frequency! It moved from a higher to a lower-frequency domain.
Essentially, an idea travels from an invisible level of vibrations—thoughts and emotions—to a physical level of reality (a house), all within the sound element. Sound is the only element common to all these stages of manifestation. The entire process is recorded in sound and is sound when analyzed from its most elemental of properties.
A house is nothing more than a pile of frequencies. A road is nothing more than a note vibrating and meandering across the land. A skyscraper is nothing more than chords stacked upon each other. A city, a symphony of melodies and chords spread across the landscape. Each is built of bricks, mortar, wood, glass, iron, steel, and so on—all frequencies traveling at different speeds. Yet, without the human essence of consciousness, these frequencies have no meaning. A road has no thought; a house has no emotion; and a city has no soul. They all require human consciousness in order to exist and are simultaneously the products of human consciousness.
All sounds create resonances with other tones that are within their harmonic proportions, until infinity. These resonances are the web of reality. They are the vibrations at the source of both cosmic and human realities. Thus, when we utter a word into the air—the cosmic realm—we are literally creating a future reality in the form of vibration. This vibration, audible at the level of speech, when combined with emotions and soul essences, has all the necessary energy to propagate all the way into reality.
MANIFESTATION
We live the very energy we emit into the world, be it as an individual, a community, or a nation. The energies we emit into the world vibrate back to our personal realities either as physical or nonphysical events. There is no distance between a word and its manifestation, a thought and its physical appearance. The perceived distance is one of frequency only. A thought is invisible to our senses but an extremely powerful creative energy once it is joined with the spiritual forces of heart and soul.
We’re not yet capable of instantly manifesting our thoughts and emotions into a physical form, because we lack internal development necessary to control and manipulate energy of higher vibrations. However, according to physicist William Tiller, Ph.D., humans do have the internal capacities to become avatars. In order to develop these internal capacities, Dr. Tiller recommends “inner self-management exercises like meditation, Qigong, Tai-Chi, Yoga, Remote Viewing, local and non-local healing,” coupled with intention, to access and evolve the internal energies, which reside at the higher (vacuum) dimensions of reality. For the moment, we rely on our emotions to provide our thoughts with latent manifesting energy. Once emotionalized, our thoughts become part of our consciousness. The consciousness has all the necessary emotional and soul energy to materialize its content into our world.
Physicist Claude Swanson, Ph.D., explains the emergence of consciousness in the following manner:
Relating this capacity of consciousness to alter reality, Dr. Swanson continues,
We do not possess complete control over reality, but we do possess co-creative powers over our world. In sum, this power is our consciousness, an energy field of both thoughts and emotions, which together form a symphony of sounds and frequencies for the formation of human reality. Our consciousness is the driving force behind our realities. We can choose which set of thoughts to emotionalize into existence as simply as we can choose which songs we want to listen to or stream at any given time of day. When we think and feel harmony, we get harmony. When we think and feel conflict, we get conflict. When we think and feel love, we get love. When we think and feel peace, we get peace. Thus, we choose our destiny by way of our thoughts, emotions, and deeds—frequencies that propagate human reality and lead to co-creation.
THE NATURAL LAW OF RECIPROCITY
Beyond our co-creative powers to fashion our realities lies nature’s own harmonic balance—infallible laws that govern human energy. Nature has the ultimate say over our creations. She maintains the balance and reciprocity in all our endeavors, good and bad. She is the ultimate harmonizer of our world—omnipresent and omnipotent in all matters of thoughts, emotions, and deeds. However, she is not here to stop us from exercising our free will to do right or wrong. We have the complete freedom to choose our thoughts, emotions, and acts. Nature simply makes sure that in the end there is reciprocity. We reap what we sow. The energy that we release (our thoughts, emotions, and deeds) only recognizes our imprints. They carry our vibrations and signatures into the cosmic realm to imprint our personal realities. In the end, these energies revert back to us as the events within our own lives.
We have a saying in Fogo, Cape Verde Islands: “Suberba é boba. Si bu ka armunsa’l, bu ta djanta’l.” Loosely translated, it means, “Words of arrogance are like a plague. If you don’t have them for lunch, you’ll have them for dinner.” Literally, this proverb dictates that our thoughts, emotions, and actions, especially those expressing ill will toward others, are living energies that revert back to us, and manifest in our own lives and lifetime. They are reality at sonic levels and will become physical when they reach the spectrum of light.
Taken in another way, this proverb reminds us that our thoughts, emotions, and deeds are not linear energies that disappear into the unknown once they are launched into this world. They travel in a circular motion back to their emitter and render with the same power, or even more, than we initiated. They are the real building blocks of our lives. They know their creators. They have our imprints. They will not stop until they are balanced as life events for their initiator.
Actions, in particular, are premeditated events that will automatically be reciprocated where a mere thought, without the vibration of emotions, would have less chances of manifesting. Actions are the final stages of thoughts and emotions. They are the physical side of reality. As such, they are infused with vibrations that are both physical and cosmic in nature. They represent vibrations of complete nature whose energies will automatically be recycled back to their perpetrator. Thus, all energy we emit into reality is returned to us for reciprocal balancing or living.
SOUND AND REALITY
In Fogo, there is another proverbial warning, usually dispensed by parents to their children, that goes like this: “Ken ki ka ta obi, ta odja.” Literally translated, the proverb says, “Those who do not listen will see.” This proverb is understood to convey the notion that those who disobey or ignore advice will reap the repercussions. However, at a metaphysical level, this proverb incorporates a knowing of the natural formation of reality. It recognizes that the energy we release into the cosmic space, be it an emotion, an action, or an intention, travels into our futures and becomes visible to us. Thus, what the parents really mean to say is that those who refuse to listen to the advice at the audible range of sound will actually see it manifested as reality when the same sounds reach the visible light spectrum of 400–700 nanometers (nm). In other words, sound and light are one and the same. Sound is reality at a lower frequency. Light is manifested reality. In essence, the physical reality we experience is nothing more than sound at a higher frequency. This warning also recognizes the inherent nature of our actions as an element of our future realities, since this advice is always given to those whose actions are being questioned.
Thus, on the one hand, we have the invisible thoughts, emotions, and ideas, and on the other, a physical or tangible reality. But they are two sides of the same coin. Both are sound elements of different frequencies. There is literally no difference between a word and a building. Both are made of waves of frequencies traveling at different speeds. We are mistaken to think that words are empty and buildings are tangible, when in fact they are only frequencies apart. They are both empty at the subatomic levels.
Essentially, all energy moves from the invisible to the visible realm. Sound and light start in the inaudible and invisible (nonphysical) domains of reality and end up in the audible and visible (physical) form, respectively. The same sound or light, when started from the physical side of reality, propagates all the way into the inaudible and invisible cosmic realms and loops back to physical reality. This is the natural law of reality. Reality is a continuous energy loop. We’re constantly experiencing the effects of prior sound elements and are at the same time emitting new sound elements for the formation of future realities.
As beings of sound with the ability to choose our thoughts and emotions, we possess a powerful co-creative capacity to determine the quality of society we wish to create. As these energies harmonize with the subtle overtones of the cosmos, they will appear in our world as finished realities, ready to take another voyage through our consciousness and the cosmos. In the end, we create exactly what we think and emotionalize into the world!
A UNIFIED REALITY
When we think and believe in an idea, we must remember that the idea is alive. When we speak a word into space, we must also remember that the space is never empty; it is filled to capacity with living energies. Thoughts and emotions (ideas) are like the rays of the sun and the vibrations of distant stars. They are the mediums we utilize to transfer information between the different paradigms of our essences—mind, heart, soul, cosmic, and so on. While thoughts and emotions are living waves of our minds and hearts, respectively, sunrays and star vibrations are living waves of our solar systems and galaxies.
We propose that they’re one and the same—a single universe. The universe made up of our thoughts and emotions is a replica of the universe made up of waves. Both are intelligent vibrations.
Physicists have been working diligently to determine if human consciousness has any power over matter. It is long believed that no quality of consciousness has any impact over physical reality, meaning that there are two separate universes in existence—one that resides within our minds and hearts and is rendered through our thoughts and emotions, and the outer universe made up of planets, stars, galaxies, space, and so on. Supposedly, these two worlds are not connected or in any way influenced by each other. Yet the similarities between the universe of the consciousness and the outer universe of the cosmos are irrefutable. Both worlds are made up of the same property of sound or waves. While consciousness is the domain of the soul, an invisible spiritual quality that resides within the body, the cosmos is the domain of the Divine, an unknown hidden force, often referred to as Nature, God, the Creator, Atum, Ammon, Ra, Re, Amen, Allah, Yahweh, Om, Shakti, Shiva, Vishnu, and more.
These two seemingly separate worlds are made up of a common element: vibration. Each neuron firing in the brain emits the same energy as that given off by the sun, a star, a galaxy—an energy that is electromagnetic in nature—a sound wave. Similarly, each cluster of the brain (for example, the cortex, the cerebellum, the medulla) is analogous to a cluster of stars and planets we would refer to as a galaxy within our universe. Different galaxies are theoretically linked via dark matter, a quality of vibration/energy holding together entire universes. These waves form the basis of interplanetary/intergalactic energy exchanges that affect the natural evolution of planets and galaxies. During a supernova, the energies and elements released by the exploding star not only affect planets within the local galaxy, but can also impact distant galaxies and planets.
We posit that the brain, the heart, and the soul are similarly connected via vibrations and resonances that exchange information and qualities of energies beyond the electromagnetic waves produced by the firing of the neurons and the emotions generated by the heart. These vibrations are at the core of the human cognitive, intuitive, and spiritual abilities.
When we look up to the night sky, we see individual planets and stars and think of them as separate entities the same way we look at individual people and fail to see their connections to the entire network of living beings upon planet Earth. Yet both worlds are not only connected within their domains, they are also connected to each other in ways we have yet to pay close attention to.
MUSIC AND THE HUMAN SOCIETY
We cannot speak about sound and the formation of human societies or realities without including the effect of music upon the same. Music is an elemental component of the frequency spectrum that makes up our universe. A subtle and often overlooked energy, music is the master of human emotions, human consciousness, and thus, a major contributor to the evolution of our lives. As musicians, we utilize sound in the form of music to co-create with nature by stimulating the human mind with ideas, and the heart with emotions, the first two essential elements of the cycle of manifestation.
A dynamic energy form, music is a medium that allows us to express ideas and emotions in ways that combine both meaning and message. It is a medium of understanding that bypasses the language faculties of the mind. Its sonic qualities and rhythmic pulses are able to resonate our thoughts and emotions directly to the principle human organ of reality, the heart. This resonance, in turn, entrains our souls’ energies into coherence, building and transforming our consciousness—the engine of human reality.
Music is frozen consciousness. It is the sacred energy of the soul and the cosmos in the form of sound. The emotional vibration of music creates a powerful, subtle energy that resonates with our souls and the higher cosmic frequencies we call reality. Thus, music is a medium capable of generating a unified human emotional energy, creating a state of being while synchronizing our moods, thoughts, and soul energies.
A gateway into higher dimensions of the human spiritual realm, music is a critical source of our overall consciousness. As such, music is a reality-transforming medium that works on the local and cosmic levels simultaneously. Its energy is subtle yet deeply transformative. Because of its delayed manifestation, music often seems to be a completely nonactive energy form. As result, we lose track of how music molds and shapes human reality.
Human reality emanates from the thought, heart, and soul dimensions of our essence. Since these dimensions are made up of vibrations, they automatically resonate with the music and other sound elements of our daily entrainment to create our consciousness. This is one of the reasons why music has such a powerful influence on the formation and direction of our societies. It provides an emotional encoding element to our shared consciousness—the source of our future realities.
Music automatically incorporates meaning and message within its tones. In contrast to language, in music, meaning does not arise from the structure but rather from the sound, the orchestration, and the mood of the piece. In writing and speech, the message has to be precisely crafted and sequenced in order for the correct meaning to be extracted by the reader or the audience. Often, the message gets lost in the process. Not so in music. In music, no words are necessary to convey meaning, message, or intention. They are rendered as elements of emotion. Thus, it is impossible to describe the complete energy communicated by music. It has to be experienced in order to be fully understood. In fact, humans lack the vocabulary to describe the feelings and the stages of consciousness created by music.
At the physical level of our existence, we perceive music through our audible senses, our ears, our bones, our tissues, and so on. At this level, not only do we hear the music, but it also resonates with our cells, the sound waves, and subtle energies generated by our brains and our hearts. A casual listening of music not only unites the physical body but also synchronizes the mental and the heart energies into a harmonized unit. We experience this harmonization in the form of emotions. These emotions make it hard to listen to music without moving or gesturing. It lures us into action. It entangles our energy fields as it synchronizes or entrains our brain waves and harmonizes our hearts’ emotions into one coherent experience. Simultaneously, it communicates with us via higher vibrational channels, delivering information in packets of emotional quality and lyrical subtlety. These are some of the entrainment effects of music.
As it mixes with conversations, social, political, economic, and cultural discourse, music becomes part of the daily sound experience. However, one essence stands apart. We always remember a song. We can hardly recall a conversation we had yesterday.
THE SONIC ENTRAINMENT PROCESS
The reality we live daily represents the essence of the music and the overall sound entrainment we have experienced in our lives. This sonic entrainment process is so subtle that it may take years to complete. Its effect is cumulative and long lasting. Initially, when music is played, its vibrations interact with the listener’s mental and heart frequencies, inducing subtle or even overwhelming emotions. These frequencies, once the domain of emotions, slowly begin to settle into the subconscious. Once it reaches the subconscious, the sound, together with its rhythmic pulse and message molds the personality, mental state, mood, and disposition. From this level of subconsciousness, music then resonates into the spiritual realm, encoding its energy within the soul vibrations, ultimately solidifying into lifestyle. As this process evolves, the music and its content become part of our overall culture. The final state of this process is reached when the energy generated by the music loops back from the cosmic/soul dimension to our physical realities. The physical manifestation of music-induced reality marks the first loop of the cycle of human reality, created by music. Since physical reality itself is rendered through frequency, it also resonates with the music energy, creating a stronger and even deeper energy vibration on its way to spiritual and cosmic incarnation, only to loop back to physical manifestation. These cycles of human reality keep repeating until either the music or the consciousness is changed.
An analogy of the process described above would be useful here. A casual music listener comes across a song. He listens to the song and develops an emotional attachment to the music and its lyrics. Soon, he finds himself sonically emulating the song’s bravado, harshness of tone, or rhythmic nuances. Simultaneously, he sympathizes with the story line and its overall poetic creativity. As he continues to repeat the music, his spiritual essence begins to crave for more songs of the same quality and message. Soon, he finds himself attached to the music genre. As he is listening and interpreting both the tone and the lyrical message of the song, his mental and heart faculties are generating thoughts and emotions that also mirror the content and the sonic vibrations of the track. At this level, the listener’s cognitive and emotional vibrations are in full swing, emitting strong energies in line with the new genre. These vibrations, in turn, begin to mold the very being—the soul—of the listener, giving rise to a new consciousness, a phenomenon we often recognize as popular culture. This new consciousness, in turn, becomes the engine propelling physical realities or actual events. For example, a gangster attitude rendered in a song begins to serve as the source for a no-backing-down attitude at the street corner, resulting in a shootout that mirrors the lyrics of the song. Lives are lost, emotional vibrations are magnified, as the subtle energy of the actual shootout resonates with the emotions of the song and its bravado. Propelled by the soul vibrations of those involved, these energies loop forward into the cosmic and spiritual dimension of the individuals associated with the event, manifesting into another shootout. The same reality—all of vibrational nature—continues to loop from mental to emotional to spiritual back to physical and again from mental, emotional, spiritual back to physical, until the music stops, the consciousness evolves, or there remain no more enemies to play the poetic role rendered in the song. All these events started with a simple song—a combination of frequencies.
In reality, all songs are as real as the actual events they describe. Songs and realities are both frequency-based events, one of higher and the other of lower vibration. Nothing more. The songs and their resulting cultural or physical phenomena are one and the same, two sides of the same coin. In fact, they are only frequencies away from each other. It does not matter that humans can consciously tell the difference between an event depicted in a song or film and the actual event. To the cosmos, the forces of nature, they are one and the same.
The song and its lyrics are frozen realities where the resulting thoughts and emotions generated by the song and its content are living energies of local and cosmic nature. They are present in this reality in the form of physical vibrations and in the future realities in the form of overtones. Not only do these vibrations become living energies within human consciousness, but their presence in lower and upper reality is simultaneous. As we listen to music, we are informing and evolving our future realities. This creative process takes place at the level of consciousness and is solidified at the spiritual and cosmic levels. The energies of thought and emotion nurture the soul while they serve as the engines of manifestation.
Within this context, music is reality rendered in audible frequency. When we listen to a song, we are in fact listening to specific cognitive events of the mind, together with the emotions of the heart of the composer, producer, writer, performer, and everyone else involved in the creation of the song. These events are rendered in audible format, and at the same time, they move toward higher-frequency manifestations as a product of our consciousness and soul energies. We resurrect these energies via our consciousness and soul forces. Thus, a song is similar to a physical human reality in that both are products of the mind and the heart, albeit different in frequency. Songs are the creative energies that fuel thought, hope, imagination, and emotions—all the vibrations that inform human consciousness and ultimately lead to the creation of human reality. These are subtle vibrations—sounds at higher frequencies—overtones that are the basis of human societies.
MUSIC AND THE SPIRITUAL DIMENSION
Often, we are struck by the lyrical content of songs. Lyrics can be so poetic and delivered in such a way that they capture our imagination. In music, however, it is the emotions generated by the lyrics that carry the most powerful energy, not the lyrics themselves. This is because thought is of lesser importance unless it is coupled with emotions. When a listener is truly touched emotionally by a song, the person’s entire being resonates with the vibrational spectrum of the song. As a result, the song becomes a multidimensional event of both physical and spiritual nature. The song unifies the being’s entire dimension of existence from its cosmic and spiritual essences all the way to its physically manifested self. Music is a door into the spiritual world since it represents the lower vibrations of a spiritual essence as frozen sound. Music, together with its pulse, harmonic, and rhythmic qualities, constitute reality-inducing rituals that accesses our spiritual dimensions and contribute to the overall energy we call human reality.
More than any other form of energy, music possesses the capacity to engage the human faculty of emotion, an essential quality that makes it instrumental in building relationships between people. Other mediums of energy transmission, like speech and writing, rely on thought processes and logical capacities of the mind to reach understanding. These mediums of transmission, although given higher priority, lack the embedded coherent element of emotion, the true essence of human communication.
We are beings of soul energies, beings of divine vibrations. All elements of sound—be they thoughts, emotions, or ideas and all physical vibrations in the form of actions, conversations, music, literature, theater, dance, politics, technology, and so on—everything we experience—combine to form the energy that imprints our realities. This imprinting is an event evolving from our souls and its resonance with the cosmic realm.
THE DIVINE SONIC POWER
The Divine has given us the sonic power to co-create our own futures. Embedded in sound is an infinite potential for order and chaos, harmony and disharmony, agreement and discord. Sound is a living field of all potentialities available for our co-creative engagement. We have to consciously choose which reality we want as our futures whenever we utilize sound, especially music. Sound has infinite power to shape the very fabric and essence of our futures. It is a powerful medium for creating both harmonic and inharmonic realities out of the potential field of nature.
We can create unity, peace, harmony, and infinite beauty by creating sound energies that resonate these vibrations into the physical and the spiritual worlds. Similarly, we can also create chaos out of our world by promoting and disseminating sound products or ideas that are inharmonic to the natural laws and life-sustaining principles of love, goodwill, cooperation, peace, unity, and so on. We are semi-divine beings resurrecting our own realities with every idea—sound—we allow within our minds, hearts, and souls.
Except from:
Sound: The Fabric of Soul, Consciousness, Reality, and the Cosmos
When the body possesses enough oscillators, a phase transition occurs. Through their mutual interaction, the oscillators then become capable of regulating their own coherent oscillation and their phase. It can alter them and broadcast them back into the vacuum to affect the vibrations of other matter throughout the cosmos.
Relating this capacity of consciousness to alter reality, Dr. Swanson continues,
The “mind” of one individual becomes conscious of its separateness from the rest of the universe, because it can control its own frequencies independent of the overall oscillations of the distant matter. By maintaining a coherent vibration, and radiating this pattern into the distant matter, it can actually cause a change in the distant vibrations, leading to a change in unfolding events.
This is the basic mechanism by which an individual operating with “inner coherence” can affect the physics of an object outside itself. It is the basis for long range actions of consciousness: distant “energy healing,” psychokinesis or PK, effects on random event generators (REGs), remote viewing and the power of intention.
The “mind” is coupled to physical reality, and is able to cause measurable effects.
