“So one of the really nice things about my career is that I was never an absentee dad. Workaholic, yes, but not absentee. What price glory? When is enough, enough?”

I began to read Patty Civalleri’s book about Florence, I have to say that this is a great book. It takes you to the magic and mystery of this great city. I have been in Florence many times, but reading this book, I rediscovered the city. This is one of the great books that will encourage all people to run and visit all these magical sites.
The book is full of fascinating stories of the brilliant men who thundered out of the Dark Ages and yanked the western world into the light. This created, of course, the Renaissance Period. It is also packed with “micro-content”, hundred of stories, trivia, and factoids that unravel this complex period of history and make it simple to understand.
This book is not just a travel book, but also one that will compel students to dig deeper and have fun doing it.
Its fun and quick facts, tales, and trivia will grab a reader’s attention quickly and keep them interested.
I can also say that it is the perfect book for students that have to take that unwanted art history class. It is grabby enough to actually make them want to read more.
The book is full of pictures, pictures, and pictures; what reader wouldn’t want a ton of photos to help to visualize history?
With no direct competition in the travel guidebook arena, it is a game-changer for travelers that want to know more than simply where to eat or drink. Finally, I can say that Patty wrote a brilliant book, which is very interesting and full of magic. She always has a smile on her face; she put this smile on every page of the book. It is the perfect companion to your favorite city’s “guidebook”.
