Since growing up in Mokena, Illinois, I went into the US Army right after high school because I needed more time to think about what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. After four years of service that included stops at Fort Lewis, and South Korea, I got a degree in writing and film editing from Columbia College Chicago in 1997.

I found my options getting into my desired field after graduation limited so I went to graduate school at Illinois State University to study something more suitable to my military intelligence background but almost as worthless - political science. It wasn't a complete loss though because it was there that I would meet the love of my life and marry her. We did something completely crazy right out of the gate - w

My biggest challenge will be defying the rule that I have to stay in the same sandbox in order to not lose followers from book to book. I want to create stories rooted in Christianity but in subtle fashion so as to not cram the obvious down the throats of readers.(less)

That all changed when I was fired from NASA for whistleblowing. It wasn't long before I felt that I HAD to write this book. The difficulty was knowing when it was time to start because we were still in the storm of it all. I felt that I couldn't write a book without knowing how it ends. (less)

My experience with low-cost paid Christian book advertisers

This entry is dedicated to detailing my personal experience with two low-cost Christian book advertisers. Let me preface everything first by saying that this is only meant to share my own experience with these particular providers. It is not meant to convey that another author's experience will be similar or that my experience was typical.

“Publishing a book is like planting a vegetable seed. The first day your book is out there is the same as seeing the first sprout from the ground. Is it ready for harvest? Obviously not. The fruit of your labor is still to come so long as you continue to nurture the soil by being persistent in letting readers know your book exists. If you give up on this process too early, your seed will dry up and be consumed by a most merciless sun.”
