A Good Liar

I'm excited to be working on a new project and hope to have to new story completed by early 2027.

A Good Liar is the deep exploration of what a father is willing to sacrifice for his son. A very raw and emotional journey of a man who is wading through the webs around him and what it means to be a good man, but a better father.

“My addiction, coupled with apathy, felt like an unstoppable force that was devouring me with an insatiable appetite. For reassurance, I began lying to myself. I was still in control, and my life wasn't a ship on a collision course with disaster. That lie helped me retain a sense of calm.”
C.L. Jackson, Through His Eyes and Lies: a pathological Liar's Tale

“I looked at the mirror and remembered the previous night was not a bad dream. I could hardly see out of my left eye because it was swollen shut like a Rocky movie. My nose was broken, and I could tell by its engorged size and the dark-blue line that stretched across its bridge. It hurt to open my mouth, but I wanted to make sure all my teeth were still there. They were, but they were covered with dried blood.”
C.L. Jackson, Through His Eyes and Lies: a pathological Liar's Tale

“As I walked from room to room, I received well wishes and good lucks from people I hardly knew. I imagined it was how politicians felt when they glued smiles to their faces and worked a room, shaking hands with strangers, but instead of kissing babies, I was taking shots.”

“After what seemed like an arduous journey, I found myself in front of the porcelain altar and prepared to pray. I dropped to my knees with my head placed over the white toilet and gently lifted the lid. I saw my reflection in the water and glanced at it for a moment. I noticed how pale my face looked, and I thought I was staring at a ghost. I wanted to scare him away, but when I opened my mouth to chastise him for morphing into a horrible wretch, no words escaped from my lips.”
