We're in Rolling Stone!
NASTY anthology and Jessica Freely's"The Straw Man" in the spotlight NASTY: Fetish Fights Back, a collection of erotic short stories edited by Chris Phillips and Anna Yeats, is featured in an article on Rolling Stone's website this week entitled, "Trump Erotica: How Smut is Getting Political Again." My story, "The Straw Man," gets some nice attention. Here's a little of what reporter Rachel Kramer Bussel had to say:
'In "The Straw Man," author Jessica Freely pulls no punches, opening her tale with the line, "You ever notice how the most virulently anti-gay leaders always seem to wind up in bed with male prostitutes?'

The Nasty Anthology: Now available for preorder!
I'm thrilled to have a story in this collection of erotic short stories inspired by the #NastyWoman movement. The anthology includes such fabulous authors as Selena Kitt, Lucy Snyder, and Steve Berman. And a portion of the proceeds benefits Planned Parenthood. What could be better?
Oh, I don't know, maybe a Mike Pence gay sextravaganza penned by yours truly? My story is entitled "The Straw Man" and I had a lot of fun with it. I hope you will too.
The NASTY Anthology goes on sale next month but you can preorder a copy right now:

Excuse Me While I WIP This Out
Here's a little snippet of something I'm working on:The market in Pelon was a square mile of stalls selling everything from shoe leather to sunblossom butter. It was also a magnet for every busker and ne'er-do-pel in Harken's Landing. A chel show was underway, the pel actors made up with large, oversize speckles all over their faces and orange wigs. Fix hurried past the laughing crowd.
"Silsinthe! Best quality! Brimstoke Gold Label Silsithe here!" The barker was a tall pel with shaggy black hair in need of a trim. She wore the livery of a coat-check pel at the Harken Club as if it were an ash dealer's smock and the very sight of her made the ground feel more solid beneath Fix's feet.
"Brimstoke Gold Label my ass," he said, stepping up to the little stand made from bottle crates. "It's soda water and apple brandy."
"Fix! Keep your voice down," said Break.
"What happened to your job checking coats at the Harken Club?"
"I quit it a week ago."
He raised an eyebrow at her.
"Okay, they fired me, all right? You happy?"
"Anything but. What did you do?"
"Why do you assume it was my fault?"
"Tell me you weren't going through their pockets. You could be hanged for stealing."
"No! Not that. Though one pocket mirror more or less would hardly matter to those purebloods. But I know, I know, not worth the risk. No, I just happened to overhear Ei Fielding telling Ei Parmenter she was planning to sell her lands to Ei Somerday and I informed her neighbor, Ei Candletree for a very tidy sum. Which is a good thing, because Ei Somerday got wind of it and got me fired, the spawn."

The 2015 LGBTQ Romance Reader's Survey collected 3,452 responses!
Woo hoo! Big thanks to everyone who helped me spread the word and everyone who took the survey and let their voices be heard. In particular I want to thank the Goodreads M/M Romance group and my publishers, Riptide and Dreamspinner, all of whom used the power of their platforms to help get the word out.
I presented the results of the survey in the lectures I taught at Seton Hill University and both presentations were very well recieved. Soon I'll post them here so everyone can have a look. Stay tuned!

Welcome to the New Digs!
After seven years with my old blog, Friskbiskit, doing double duty as my website, I decided it was high time for a change. So I created this new website with a streamlined design I just love. Things are still under construction, but please feel free to explore, and if you have any comments or suggestions, I'd love to hear them! What do you think?
