The Perfect journey and a new year
Hi guys!
I haven't been on here for a while what with christmas and new year (and life generally being hectic), so I thought that it was time that I gave a quick update on what I have been up to.
Perfect Disaster released in December 2017, and the feedback that I have had so far has been amazing! Readers are loving Jake and Stacey's story just as much as I do. With each book going from strength to strength, I am about to start preparing for the release of the final book in the Perfect Series.
I am yet to announce the title of the last book but, fear not, I will be announcing this soon.
As well as getting all the prep work done, I am working on a new novel that has taken over my life in the last week (in-between working and keeping house!). The new novel ventures into a different territory and I feel excited about where my writing is taking me. I am slowly gaining more followers over social media, and I am interacting with other writers which is fantastic.
If you are yet to follow me on social media then you can find me on:

My website www.theperfectseries.com is being updated as soon as I can get to see my PR Guru!!
For the time being, keep connecting with me and if you haven't checked out the perfect series yet, take a look at my amazon author page where you will find all three books located.

That's it for now.
2018 is going to be a busy, but awesome, year!!
Much love as always,
Lindsey.

Snowy morning's and the Perfect journey.......
Good morning all!
I am sat at my macbook as the snow falls (and currently refrains from settling, which is highly annoying!). I have a cup of coffee beside me, and my music playing as I sort out all of the relevant information for my next book release.
Yes, if I hadn't mentioned it before (which I'm pretty sure that I have) then I am looking at releasing my next novel before christmas! I like to cut things fine I know!
So, with the quotes sent to my fabulous PR guru, my next step is to format the whole manuscript. This has to be my least favourite part of being a self published author! The whole process tends to give me a headache and results in copious amounts of coffee being drank!
The book that I am releasing is called Perfect Disaster, and it is the third book in the Perfect Series. I have had some great feedback, and I love that others are falling in love with the characters just as much as I have. Of course I know that there will be bad reviews (I am not delusional), but for now, I am basking in the glow of all the good comments.
So, with a bit of clubland euphoria pumping through my headphones, I am in the zone, and I am ready to do this for the third time. I may be filled with nerves each and every time that I do this, but ultimately, I am proud of what I have achieved. I am proud of the work that has gone into making these books, and I am proud of what I have written.
For anyone interested in checking out the first two books in my series, here they are:
Book One:
Book Two:
Book Three:
COMING SOON!!!!
Have a great day everyone, and reach for the stars because no one else is going to reach them for you.....
Much love,
Lindsey.

Perfect Journey.....
I have no idea where the last month has gone! What with getting everything ready for my third book to release, it has certainly been manic!
I have just finished the final edit of Perfect Disaster, and I am now ready to convert everything ready to upload to Amazon!! Each time I do this it scares me, but I know that, once I hold the book in my hands, the elation will surpass anything else.
Being an indie author requires a massive amount of time (more so with marketing) but I love that i have complete control over what happens with my novels. I dictate only to myself, and I am slowly building up a reader base which is awesome. Every time I sell a book I do a little jig inside!
I had the fortune of doing an interview with Merryn books last week, and I still have to pinch myself at the fact that people want to interview me!
This post may only be short and sweet, but I have a new idea in my head that desperately needs unleashing onto paper. So, for now I shall be turning off the internet in the hope that I won't be distracted!
If you still haven't checked out my book series then here they are:

Cuffed Review
Well, I have been busy for the last week or so writing, publishing my second novel, and of course reading. Mix all of that in with working and keeping house, and it is safe to say that I have barely had time to breathe!
Now that I have acquired an spare few moments to myself, I am going to give a short review on the book Cuffed by K.Bromberg.
Cuffed is the new release from K.Bromberg. It is the start of her new series, and I have to say that, Kristy hit the jackpot with this one. Cuffed is sexy, romantic and funny but also deals with serious issues. I couldn't put it down, and I would implore anyone to give her books a read.
Grant Malone and Emerson Reeves are the main characters, and from the word go their chemistry is electric. They have a unique relationship and a whole lot of history.
Grant is definitely the cop of my dreams! His charm made me fall in love with him from the beginning. A man who is compassionate and who can hold his own when he needs to.
Emerson Reeves has had horrific things happen to her. She is strong, but she also shows moments where she is struggling and needs to work through her emotions in order to get past previous heartache.
These two characters together are a great match, and they show that love really can conquer all.
I also have to mention the other Malone brothers. Boy, do they seem like fun! Cheeky, comical, and incredibly loyal. They bring a strong family element to the book and it was so nice to see that their strong values were portrayed throughout.
I seriously can not wait for the next book!!!
Well done on another fabulous novel Kristy!!
Much love,
Lindsey.

The Gender End...
So today I finally got round to finishing the final book of the Gender Game series by Bella Forrest and OH MY DAYS, IT WAS SO GOOD!!
I have absolutely loved this series. The writing and the general story has captivated me. There hasn't been a moment where I have wanted to stop reading.
For me, I adored the relationship between the lead characters, Violet and Viggo. Their love for one another held me from the moment that they first met. I was routing for these two the whole way through. Violet is a strong female who shows her emotions and takes a stand when she needs to. Viggo is loyal and fierce whilst coming across as a gentleman at the same time. I enjoyed reading about their friendships with the other characters and there is a strong sense of loyalty within their circle.
Of course there are characters that I didn't like, but those characters kept me hooked as I couldn't wait to see what would happen to them, and where their scheming would take them.
I can honestly say that I am a little sad that I have finished the series as I feel invested in these characters. Through the authors writing, I feel like I have experienced emotions along with the characters and have had several moments where my heart has been pounding from events that have taken place.
In conclusion, this series for me is a must read, and I will definitely be reading more of Bella Forrest's work.
If you fancy checking this series out for yourself, click below to take a look at the first book of the series. You won't be disappointed!

Author Takeover
Hey guys,
I have been away from my blog for a while due to being immersed in a new writing idea (or several I should say, but one of those ideas is flowing better than the others).
Anyway, in the midst of writing, I received some awesome news last night. The wonderful K.Bromberg is going to be taking over my Facebook group next month and I am MEGA excited!!!!
K.Bromberg is one of my favourite authors and writes some seriously hot romance!!
I can't believe that I have been lucky enough to be chosen to have my Facebook group taken over by her! If you are unfamiliar with her books then you should check these out....
Driven
Fueled
Crashed
Aced
This series is one of my all time favourites and Colton Donovan is classed as one of my book boyfriends. Having been captivated by this series, I have read her other books and have been just as engrossed by those. Her new book Cuffed is released in four days time and I can't wait to read this!!!
So, if you are unfamiliar with my group then look for The Perfect Journey where you can catch K.Bromberg taking over on the 3rd of November at 9pm EST! If you have trouble finding the group, look for my Facebook page (@lindseypowellperfect) where the group is linked on there.
The Perfect Journey continues..........
Much love,
Lindsey.

A perfect weekend....
It's been a few days since my last post and that is mostly due to not having enough time to write anything..... and I mean anything at all!! Having been busy all week, I am finally setting aside some time on this Saturday evening to lose myself in my fictional characters.
Of course I thought that I should update my blog first. I have actually missed not writing my thoughts down on here. It's quite surprising how addictive this blogging can be.
After thinking long and hard about new marketing strategies I have come up with zilch. Nada. Nothing. So, at the risk of becoming disheartened with it all, I am going to throw myself into a new project. I have a new idea and new characters to (eventually) introduce the world to. I'm excited to start typing. Plugging my headphones in and putting a playlist on is my idea of heaven on this Saturday night.
So, whilst I lose myself in another world, I can only hope that some of you may have read my existing one.
Perfect Stranger is my first novel. I am still completely devoted to the characters in this book. Stacey Paris and Jake Waters are always going to be classed as my favourites as they started my writing career.
Perfect Memories is the second instalment which carries on the lives of Stacey and Jake. This book has hidden twists and turns that will (hopefully) keep the reader entertained.
I have received great feedback for both books, and if you have read them, then I would love to hear what you think. Don't forget to follow me on social media (links can be found on my author bio page).
In the meantime, I hope you all have a great Saturday night. As I have already told you, I will be writing/plotting for my new idea. This is what can only be described as a perfect weekend.....
Much love,
Lindsey.

The Perfect Journey Continues...
So, it has been two weeks since my second novel was unleashed....
I think the cover is gorgeous, don't you agree? The cover was designed by my talented friend Vikki. She is amazing at what she does as you can see.
Currently, Perfect Memories, is only available on kindle. The paperback will be coming soon for those of you who have been asking (please bear with me, I have to try and fit all the book stuff in around work, kids, home-life etc).
For those of you who may read this but who haven't read one of my books, let me do a very small introduction for you.
Perfect Memories picks up from where Perfect Stranger ended, and both books are part of the Perfect Series. In the series you are introduced to Stacey Paris and Jake Waters, who are the lead characters. I don't want to give too much away about their relationship, but I will say that they have to overcome certain obstacles for their relationship to progress.
Stacey and Jake have become a firm part of my writing imagination, and I love getting lost in their world. It is at this point where I question my book sales.
I have mentioned book sales previously on here, and for the most part, I have learnt not to get too excited over releasing an ebook...... but at the same time, I can't help but check (more than once a day) to see if I have shot up in the Amazon rankings at any point. As it stands, I am a small fish in a very big pond.....
I have seen various other comments in regards to marketing on social media about how tough it is, and boy, they're not joking when they say it!
As a busy mother of two, who works a full-time job, and runs a household, I barely find the time to do any sort of marketing. Sure, I do the twitter/facebook/instagram posts when I get a chance, but apart from that, I just don't get the time to really look into anything else. I try to engage, I try to share other people's stuff, I try and I try and I try, but it just doesn't seem to be enough. This probably sounds like I am just having a moan, and if you were thinking along those lines, then you would be right. There aren't many people that I can vent to because they don't understand my frustration, so I am venting on my blog.
It scares me that my books are going to get lost into oblivion and I am going to look back in years to come and wonder what the hell I did wrong. When you have worked on something for so long, and you have put your heart and soul into it, then it is difficult not to see it become a major success. You start to think 'why am I not one of the lucky ones who make serious money?' or 'why can't I just be a full time writer?' or 'why aren't people everywhere raving about my work?'
All questions that I could probably answer, but I doubt it would be the right response, so I will keep those answers to myself. There are fleeting moments where I think that I should never have put my work into the world, but I push those thoughts away as quick as they entered my mind. I have to remember that, no one knows me. I am an unknown indie author in a highly competitive market. I understand I need to be patient, I understand that I may always remain unknown, but I need to remember that, if I hadn't of put myself out there then I would have always regretted it.
As much as the marketing aspect frustrates me, I am hoping that I will acquire some time, someday soon, in which I can plan some new promotional ideas.
I guess that, to sum up the end of this blog post, you could say that I find book marketing a real pain in the ass!
Much love,
Lindsey.

Old before my time...
I sit here on a Saturday night, with my macbook in front of me, and I think that I may be old before my time.
As I ponder over various social media posts of people out drinking, pictures of drunken antics, and several meme's indicating that some are worse for wear, I think about how different my life is now compared to ten years ago.
At age twenty.....
Saturday nights were all about partying
Saturday nights were made for dressing up
Saturday nights were about putting on my stiletto's and dancing the night away
Sunday morning's were all about the fried 'hangover' breakfast
Sunday afternoon's were all about lounging on the sofa, eating various junk foods
Sunday nights were all about getting a take-away and feeling 'rough'
At age thirty.....
Saturday nights are all about chilling
Saturday nights are made for wearing comfy pjs
Saturday nights are made for wearing slippers and sipping on a mug of green tea
Sunday morning's are about feeling fresh
Sunday afternoon is about quality family time
Sunday nights are all about a home cooked roast dinner and a family film whilst taking satisfaction in the house being clean and tidy!
Of course I do have the occasional night out clubbing, but more often than not, my Saturday night will consist of doing something with the kids, writing, reading, or having a Prison Break marathon with my PR Guru!
And I can honestly say that I wouldn't have it any other way.
So, as much as I may miss the 'good old days,' I wouldn't change my Saturday nights now for anything.
Some may view me as being old before my time, but just know this, whatever I end up doing, I make sure that I have a bloody good time whether that is just simply reading or whether that is getting my glad rags on and hitting the dance floor. And on this particular Saturday evening, I have had the pleasure of sitting by myself for a couple of hours whilst starting a new writing project.
Time is precious so make sure you spend it doing things that you hold most dear to you. Writing is one of my greatest pleasures, and creating new fictional characters is exciting.
For anyone else joining me in writing on this Saturday night, ENJOY! (I know I am!)
Much love,
Lindsey.

New Blog Post Fright
So, I wrote my first blog post a couple of days ago...... now I have the fear of what to write next.
How do I keep people interested?
What can I write that sets me apart from every other blogger out there?
How do I get people to read it in the first place?
These are just a few questions that have filtered through my brain for the last hour or so. I don't have the answers to the questions, and I probably never will do. Everyone is different, and everyone has different interests. As someone who is an unknown, and only recently became a self-published author, I guess I am not going to be that interesting. If one day I become a household name, then I shall refer back to this post and encourage others to blog, blog, blog!!
Anyway, as I sit here and sip my cup of coffee and ponder what I should write about next, I guess the obvious answer would be: my book. Of course I should blog about my book. Won't that get me more sales? Won't a blog dedicated to my book entice more readers?
No. The answer is, no, it won't. What it might do is annoy people in which case, no one would bother to read my blog anyway. As much as I want to promote myself, there is only so much of that I can do before I start to get bored. (As a self-publisher, promotion takes a lot out of you so excuse my honesty on the fact that it bores me rigid after a couple of hours!) I am unsure if I should be admitting that, but hey, that's just my view.
Of course I love my story (Perfect Stranger) but I can't force others to read it no matter how much I want them to (although did you like how I added the link in there. A cheeky bit of promotion that is starting to come naturally.... see, I'm learning!).
On that note, I have decided to write about another book (and no, it isn't one of mine.) I am currently reading the Gender Game series by Bella Forrest. I have read the first six books, and I intend on starting the final book this weekend. If you haven't already read these books, then you are missing out!
This book series has had me hooked for the past month (give or take a few days). It has everything. Action, intrigue, underlying romance, heroes, plot twists.... you name it and these books have got it. I won't give any spoilers away as if you haven't read them then it would be a shame to spoil it for you.
What I will say though is that, this author has drawn me into her fictional world. I have engaged with the characters, and at times, I can almost feel the emotions that they are experiencing throughout the books. I have already recommended this series to a friend, and she has sped through the first book as she can't put it down.
A part of me is sad to be starting the final book, but at the same time I can't wait to see how it all ends!!
Bella Forrest, thank you for creating this fictional world!!
Much love,
Lindsey.
