FREE ON SUNDAY, 12/22 (e-book version).. Have you ever wondered about the journey your family made to come to America? My mother’s family left Russia in the early 1900s for a better life. When I decided to write a tribute to them, it evolved into a tribute to all who have come for a better life. “My Name is Rebecca: A Novelette” tells the story of a man who left Russia with his sons. The story details life in their village, the voyage to America, the process at Ellis Island, and the Lower East Side of New York. Although historical fiction, I have included stories that I heard while growing up. The book is available on Amazon in e-book and paperback formats. As an added note, the photo on the cover is of my mother, taken in 1931 when she was four years old.

FREE ON JAN. 9 AND 10--"My Name is Rebecca: A Novelette," is the story of a father and his sons who emigrated from Russia to the United States in the early 1900s, living in New York and then settling in Wisconsin. The reader accompanies the family as they leave behind their home land to escape persecution and poverty, searching for religious freedom and a better life. They bring not only their beliefs and traditions to America, but they also bring the story of their family to hand down to future generations. I wrote this book in honor of my mother’s family who came from Russia in the early 1900s. As it evolved, I realized that it was in honor to all who have come for a better life. My mother was born on January 9, 1927. In honor of her birthday, the Kindle format is free this weekend.
