I think we can all agree that it's rare that you are pleased with the first thing that you write and dear lord has that been true of the first chapter of the third book in Sins of the Father. I wrote the first chapter six years ago and have been editing ever since!
Still, when I came to it this month, laptop issues fixed, time to play around and, you know, actually needing to get that first chapter and the tone of the book fixed, I must have walked away from it about thirteen times in five days. Then, last night, I cracked it. Sort of. It still needs editing, but the bones of what I need are now there and that's amazing and it's sorted and-
And I now need to go and rewrite chapters 2-5. And it's such a beautiful day and I swear some of my friends think I'm becoming a gremlin creature, but my imaginary people are finally starting to behave and we've found a compromise and I am not letting that go for anything.
Except for ice-cream. I might be swayed outside for ice-cream!
