The New Angel series groups. I wrote BykeChic because I had a funky dream about Kita and Transformers. When I started, it wasn’t going to be part of the Kitaverse. That’s one of the reasons Little Kita (human Kita) is so different. She wasn’t supposed to be Angel Kita. I was only using the name for familiarity. When I got to decide what the axiom did and how it worked, I debated what to do. I don’t think I made up my mind until I said the axiom was the shape of a feather. Even then, I didn’t plan on Kita being an Angel. After daydreaming about it for a while, I decided I would, and then I had to find a way to get Kita there. I did make her kinder and gentler in an attempt to get away from Game of the Gods Kita. This didn’t lead to the stories I wanted. Earth 832 and Earths are both good stories but aren’t really Kita books in my mind.

The first book in the Earth Y4K series, Blood, Oil, and Tears, is an outlier. It’s from Kimmy’s point of view and follows in the same character vein for Kita as the New Angel series. Titan’s Forge and Heat Death are not. They are pure, old-school Li’ve Kita rampaging across the galaxy, destroying everything, and leaving a trail of bodies books. Kita gains new powers in Earth Y4K, and she uses them to devastating effect.

Earth Y4K introduces a first. A male Kita can stand to have close. Johnny Henry JR commands the Black Griffin Merc Company, is married and madly in love with the Djinn Sierra, and he looks like John Cena, just with a black beard. He also has a thing for pirates.

Jonny and Sierra are one of the few groups that take Kita and Kimmy at their word that they’re gods and can help save the galaxy. Along the way, Sierra becomes Kita’s best friend and the Angel Heretic. Jonny and Sierra quickly earned Kita’s trust by letting her do her thing and not being bothered by Kita’s antics. He does become the Angel Blackbeard but doesn’t get wings, just a bear butt.

Jonny was a request for a prominent male character. There hasn’t been one since Ryan, and he’s not a favorite. It was a trick to come up with a character that was safe for Kita, could prove worth to her, and be her contemporary. He has no nefarious intentions and is loyal to Kita for trying to save their galaxy and taking them to Roost. And if he has a male moment, Senior is there to knock sense back into him.

CAVEGIRL is much like BykeChic. It follows a version of Little Kita through the last ice age for most of the story, then Kita finds her axiom and becomes an Angel. Kita is also raging in this story, but it’s driven by her PTSD. The plot of CAVEGIRL is to put Darkness back on the vampire throne and defeat Anna’s vampires sent to enslave the world. Kita’s relationships expand. She falls for Darkness as Little Kita, Kerri returns, and Kita and Kimmy are trying to rebuild their relationship after Earth Y4K. It’s a grand fantasy adventure across a unique landscape, meeting new races. Wait until you meet a three-foot Elf Angel.

So where is NAEC going? After CAVEGIRL will be BLOODLINES. BL is a collection of short stories chronicling Jynx as a Marine and her and Kita’s relationship. After that will be the GOD STONES. If you remember, a few short stories I published long ago contained things known as god stones. Originally, they were pieces left over from the previous equation and could take god powers. Now, they are the singularity of each of the five fundamental forces. They are what the universe was formed from, and they float in the universe. When put together, they destroy the universe. Kita and the K Squad are pulled from the universe moments before it implodes. Ryan has frozen the universe because most of the other Angels are in it, and they’re afraid they’ll be deleted. Kita turns to finding old Angels to help save the new Angels.

I don’t know what will happen after GOD STONES. See what I dream up.

So, what’s the GOAL? As Kita says, the goal of making all these universes is to get back to EARTH ZERO, Kasey, Katalina, Sarge, and the other Angels. Kita still has a grudge against Collector and Katalina. I plan on taking Kita back to her home world Heliox and see what’s happened. Possible bad guys are Tina and her desire to create a utopia, and I see Sarin becoming a Lex Luthor-type with Gjord Industries. So, the goal is to get back to the beginning. Kita keeps Earths she likes orbiting around Roost and so Angels from those Earths can go home. Expect some adventures on Earth 832 and 900 and the Korra Alliance.

I was chatting with a fan/reader/patron and they asked me to explain how Ascension ties in with Game of the Gods and the New Angels/Earth Y4K/CAVEGIRL (NAEC). They’d read the original manuscripts (Find them at https://discord.com/channels/696557556553875556/711401597753622610) but didn’t get how they fit with NAEC. This is a good question, and so far, the answer has probably only made sense to me.

In the original manuscript progression, it went Ascension, Return of the Fallen Angel, Children of the Emperor, Irruption, and Game of the Gods. This would complete the story arc of how Kita became God. And that’s where it was supposed to stop. When I went to publish, I combined Ascension, Return of the Fallen Angel, and Children of the Emperor into one series. This was done for a couple of reasons. Those three series are one story arc of Kita vs. Angus. The first three published Ascension books are the same as the original manuscripts, with some tweaks.  Return is where I started to rewrite. The rewrite wasn’t so much making a new story as taking the disjointed and incomplete story that was Return of the Fallen Angel and making it flow, coherent and complete. 

If you’ve read Return of the Fallen Angel and the new Ascension, you’ll find 90% is the same, just polished. The biggest change is the introduction of Babydoll (Kerri) in Price of Glory. Before, she wasn’t introduced until Irruption. It was decided that Babydoll being a high-ranking legionnaire, would have been noticed by Kita went she took over the Legion. Kita and Babydoll as best friends has been expanded to a relationship taking place between Kita’s relationship with Snowy and Sarin. Kita and Babydoll will span time and space. Sarin will still happen in pretty much the same fashion. She’ll help Kita raise Spike and Quill. The events in Children of the Emperor will see the most rewriting in the new Ascension. I remember it being very disjointed, incomplete, and missing elements. 

Irruption will become Empire of Angels. I haven’t thought much about what needs to happen with this story. The original manuscripts for Irruption are in good shape. I’ve got some changes, like not having Kita run off twice in four chapters. EoA will link Ascension and Game of the Gods.

Game of the Gods is published but needs a rewrite, but I’m not going to do it….except for parts of Li’ve…until I’ve finished EoA. For the most part, the story and characters of Game of the Gods are good. There are a bunch of continuity errors, and background information has changed. The end of Li’ve will change, well a detail. A big detail. Currently, Kita destroys the Infinity Reality over Sarin. That’ll change. Kita will destroy the Infinity Reality over the loss of Kasey Bush, AKA Defiance. Sarin and Kita will be together for a long time, but Kita desperately wants Kasey. She wants Babydoll, too, but she turned Kita down when asked to partner. If you’ve read Incompatablitly or CATHOUSE you’ve gotten a hint of Kita’s relationships with Apacolypse, Babydoll, and Darkness. In the WHAT IF Reunion, you can see where Sarin fits in or doesn’t.

Death vs. Deletion. This is a concept that causes a lot of confussion. In the Infinity Universes (GotG) ceasing of existing can happen in one of three ways. Killed. If an Angel is killed, say Snowy on the transfer station in Li’ve. Her equation has stopped but her data (Spirit?) is still stored in the universe’s memory. In CATHOUSE Ryan and others find Snowy’s data (Spirit) and copy it into Kita’s Reality. With deletion, when the Angel is killed by deletion, like Defiance, her data (spirit) is removed from the universe’s memory. It was like she never existed. Finding these Angels will require searching other parts of Kita’s Computer. Kerri was found storied in temperary memory. The problem is, no one knows when these caches and memory stores will be overwritten. So, there’s some urgancy. Truncation. This is what Kita did to Tina. It’s not evident in GotG’s or the other books how much Kita hates Tina. When an equation is truncated, it stops and hangs in limbo between life and death. Forever waiting to be processed but never will.
