Book Two in the Soli Hansen Mysteries

Are you excited about the next installment in the Soli Hansen Mysteries? I know I am.
The manuscript has been read by several beta readers already.
Here are some of their comments:
"Another great one! I thought the characters, old and new were great and the intrigue was really there. Once again your descriptions were spot on, and I could visualize everything. Looks like Solvie will continue to solve mysteries! Yay!"
One listed all the things she found thrilling in the book and said, It's exciting how you tie everything together."
Another wrote, "It was so exciting, I could hardly put the book down."
And one of the beta readers who is Italian wrote to me and said, "I believe you're ready to write in Italian."
Which is not true. Yes, there are a few Italian phrases in the book, and as much as I want to be fluent in Italian one day, I absolutely needed Elisabetta's help. I so much appreciate her time and also the other beta readers. Thank you all.

The next step for me is to send the MS off to my editor. She's brilliant and picks up all the details that are off and need improvement.
I've also had a discussion with my book cover designer in London. I'm so excited to see what amazing ideas he'll bring to the table this time.
For me, it's time to set up the launch plan and start working on the details for publication.

Of Darkness and Light: A Soli Hansen Mystery Book 1 book launch 12 May 2020:

In this first book of a new historical mystery series, a young art historian faces a tough choice in German-occupied Norway.

“Artful prose and at a pace that makes for a can't-put-down, first-class literary voyage."–Melissa Dalton-Bradford, bestselling author of Global Mom

Oslo, 1944. Soli Hansen’s passion for art history is and always has been a way of life for her. While she spends her days working in an art shop, WWII is taking its toll on everyone. Apprehensive of the consequences, Soli avoids becoming entangled in the war resistance efforts. She closes her eyes in hopes the enemy will retreat and leave her beautiful country for good.

But when a woman is found dead in the alley alongside the art shop and a painting from the last auction goes missing, Soli is thrown into the thickest of the fray involving both Nazi art theft and the Norwegian resistance.

Once Soli finds her courage, there’s no turning back. Her personal life is turned upside-down with danger, lies, spying, and an incredible discovery.

In this dual timeline novel, Heidi Eljarbo paints a vivid picture of what people are willing to do in desperate times. With unforgettable characters and rich historical details, Of Darkness and Light will keep the reader mesmerized until the last satisfying page.

Perfect for fans of Kate Morton, Lucinda Riley, Katherine Neville, and Kate Mosse.

Praise for Of Darkness and Light

“Interspersing love, hope, and courage, the participants are drawn together in mysterious paths.”–Pauline Isaksen, bestselling author of Dying for Justice

“Of Darkness and Light will reel you in and keep you hooked until the end.”–Mette Barfelt, bestselling author of The Solvik Series

COVER REVEAL

Trailing the Hunter Cover Reveal

Ta-da!

I’m happy to reveal the cover for my new historical novel, TRAILING THE HUNTER, created by the talented Tim Barber of Dissect Designs. Isn’t it wonderful? He really did a great job and captured feelings of both hope and despair that the strong female protagonist, Clara Dahl, experiences.

As I finished writing the novel Catching a Witch, I knew Clara still had much more to tell us. I was curious and wanted to see what she would do next and let her follow the witch-finder, Angus Hill, to Berg, a small village in southeastern Norway.

Then what?

The year is 1661 and superstition tends to overrule the otherwise faithful little village. Get ready to meet the villagers of Berg and laugh and cry with Clara as she opposes the witch-finder.

Trailing the Hunter is the sequel to Catching a Witch and will be available 30 October 2019. Stay tuned for updates and more news before then. Both books about Clara Dahl can be read as stand-alone novels but reading both will make the story fuller.

Catching a Witch is on a Kindle Countdown sale on Amazon.com for $0.99 for the next few days. If you have not read it yet, I will say in the words of Clara, “make haste” and grab a copy on the link below. (European subscribers may automatically be redirected to Amazon UK. Please go to the US site for the Kindle sale.)

About Trailing the Hunter:

A ruthless witch-finder.

One determined woman.

1661 in southeastern Norway.

Clara Dahl has made a decision. She has seen the dread and sorrow witch-finder Angus Hill has caused in her hometown and sets out to find him. Her goal is to fight the wrongful and wicked misconceptions about witch hunting. But the witch-finder’s influence is strong. How can she warn the villagers of something they don’t understand?

Clara’s heartfelt desire is to protect and rescue the women who are in danger without causing more harm. As Clara develops secret plots to thwart the plans of the notorious witch-finder and works to help the villagers, she finds friendship and the possibility of true love.

“A spellbinder from the very beginning. Eljarbo’s sound historical research is evident and impressive.” — Gus A. Mellander, Ph. D., D.H.L.

So there you have it. I am thrilled to share this with you and hope you will enjoy Clara’s story. Writing it has been an amazing journey. TRAILING THE HUNTER releases in a few weeks.
