Book review - 6 billion shoppers

Six Billion Shoppers: The Companies Winning the Global E-Commerce Boom Six Billion Shoppers: The Companies Winning the Global E-Commerce Boom by Porter Erisman

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is a must for anyone working in ecommerce, or trying to get in there. It takes a world view on ecommerce and presents each region with its issues and kinks, and relates all back to what platforms are successful and how the culture of buying & selling - ingrained in the people of the different regions - can be the root to the fact that different regions prefer different ecom models. The book opened my eyes to new markets and gave a great context to the things we see happening in ecommerce around us. WELL worth the read!

Book Review

Blood, Sweat, and Pixels: The Triumphant, Turbulent Stories Behind How Video Games Are Made Blood, Sweat, and Pixels: The Triumphant, Turbulent Stories Behind How Video Games Are Made by Jason Schreier

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved the book. It is a great collection of case studies and war stories surrounding some of the greatest games in the last 3-10 years, and the author does a good job in describing the frustration, pain and sacrifice that goes into one of the great games - to make them just that... great.
I would have liked to have a little more "around" the case studies to make it a complete story, but for me this was a lovely read. A "Must read" for all you gamers out there!

Insanely Great..

My review of the book I just finished - must read for tech enthusiasts..

Insanely Great: The Life and Times of Macintosh, the Computer that Changed Everything Insanely Great: The Life and Times of Macintosh, the Computer that Changed Everything by Steven Levy

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The history of THE most important computer of all time, by a person very close to the action but also with the distance from it to tell the story with all it´s aspects. Great book for those looking to get to know the innovations that defines almost all user interfaces that we see today; from windows and mac-computers, to the android and iphone smartphones.
The only thing that I would have wanted was an updated version also including the lines drawn all the way to the UI´s of today - that would have made it perfect. I hope Steven Levy gets around to write that part of the story as well.

Very much recommend reading this book.
