I was born in Phila, PA and grew up in the Phoenixville area. I graduated from Villanova Univ with a BA in theology and went on to do an MA in that subject at St. Michael's in Toronto.
After that I joined an Irish missionary community, and spent 6 years in West Africa - Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ghana. But the people there converted me, so I left the Church and returned to the US.
I did an MA in Counselling Psychology in Boston (1991) and have worked as a psychotherapist in both Boston and the greater Dublin area. My search for a satisfactory spirituality has informed my life, and my book is the story of what I have found and how I got there. I also look at the history and psychology of Christianity as well as the more recent stories people use
