stuck in a meteor shower

part 1 about a dear little astronaut.
promise i’ll share it here once i write it ;))

stuck in a meteor shower

i am an astronaut,
floating in space;
a heavy glass bubble,
surrounding my face — i am stuck in a meteor shower.

i float and i watch the—
blue-green swirling ball.
down there it’s the world but,
up here it’s so small — and i’m stuck in a meteor shower.

the bay windows opened;
they told me i’d fly,
then shot me right out;
didn’t mention i’d die — now i’m stuck in a meteor shower....

this is a poem about a brave little frog who is about to learn that sometimes the things that help us to survive the darkest times in life can often be the very thing that ends up holding us back from true healing.

ecclesiastes 3:1 says it well

Children of the Angels

hey you!!!
it’s me maggie :))) and i have some awesome news that i’ve been looking forward to sharing for two years now! It’s here!!

“Children of the Angels” my newest novel is finally published!!

This is a book of struggle and victory — of sorrow and of precious little joys.
It’s a book of love and passion — of despair and of course…of hope.

A demonic government is controlling every facet of life, to the point of limiting the number of children in families to two. Any “extras” a...

a poem about the moon

         what is the moon

what is the moon here to teach us,
what are it’s beams really for?
what does it see as it looks back at us,
as it watches our peace and our war?
why does it hang in black darkness,
why does it seem so alone?
why does it constantly circle us all,
so faithful with hardly a groan?
how does its quietness speak to us,
how does its seasons change ours?
how does its rough battered face say so much,
how does it outshine the stars?
does the moon ever think of us huma...

a poem

the rain always affects me.
when im burying myself in work, not taking any time to think, avoiding anything that resembles something thoughtful…. and then it rains. somehow it forces me to stop. to remember. to think through. to cry. to accept. to keep walking with my head held a little higher.

or the times when im overthinking everything and my brain feels like it wants to scream for five years straight, and then the rain comes, the sky cries for me, with the depth that i wish i could, and t...

today

i think it’s easy for us, as humans, to hold onto the hard. the hurt. the pain. it’s easy to be swallowed up by it and to see nothing but the tears in our own eyes and the eyes of others.
i’m challenging myself to look for the good moments that God gives us, and no matter how long it takes to find them, hold onto those instead.
i wanted to challenge you too. let’s search for the lights of His glory. and even if our hands bleed from holding on, let’s never let go of Hope.

someone’s stranger.

i don’t think we will ever know the impact we can have on those around us.
family, friends, yes, but right now, i’m talking about strangers.

you know, those people you pass all the time as you hurry about your own life.

i was out and about for a good part of yesterday and a lone woman sitting in a little greek restaurant is the one who made me think through this whole thing again.

as i waited for the waiter (funny i know) to be finished with a couple of customers so i could thank him...

i used to think that the world was a beautiful place.

what happened? what happened to “it’s a beautiful life”? what went wrong? was satan suddenly winning? what was going on? i thought:

Image result for ugly world

i had a lot of thinking to do. and this is some of what i came to….

this world was good.
it was the very breath of it’s Maker and we the crown of His creation.
we were made in His image and the world bore His fingerprints.
perfect.
beautiful.
