Andrés Aguilar Quesada is a Costa Rican writer based in Tokyo. He is the author of the novels 'El Bosque de los Plátanos Petrificados' (Encino, 2022), 'Sereno' (La Jirafa y Yo, 2017), and, most recently, 'Ratones Pérez' (EUNED, 2023), which won the 2022 Hugo Díaz Illustrated Album Literary Contest and was selected for the 2024 IBBY Honour List. 'Ratones Pérez', illustrated by Costa Rican artist Gabriela Zumbado, tells the story of a family of mice running a business dedicated to collecting fallen teeth.

His essays and short stories have appeared in anthologies and literary magazines, including Tierra Breve: Antología Centroamericana de Microficción, penúltiMa Magazine, and Samoa.
