[Dragonmun Studios] Magical, Mythical, Odd, & Nerdy

It's Fall!!!

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule

So, I didn't realize that the September newsletter failed to send, which means that I failed to notify you of some rapidly approaching events ahead of time. My bad.

On October 4th (tomorrow as I'm writing this), is the Orlando Oddities and Art Market, which I'll have a booth at! This is an indoor event, so it's happening rain or shine.

Then, next week is Orlando Reads Books, an awesome and totally casual writing industry event with a publi...

[Dragonmun Studios] June Literarily Had Me 😂😂😂

It shouldn't have been that funny.

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule

June 14th was a totally special day for my novel series this year:

First off, I was a featured author at the Read It Write It literary festival at the Mall at Wellington Green. This wonderful event  was put on by Heidi Hess, who is another fantastic author/artist that I met at an oddities show.

I have to say, it was really cool to see a mall as busy as that one was. I've, sadly, gotten used to seeing malls in their de...

[Dragonmun Studios] Wait, It's June?!

When did that happen?

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule

Hello everyone and welcome new readers to the Dragonmun Studios monthly newsletter!

I know May happened and all, but like… did it? Really? 🤔

Of course it did. I dropped off art for the Arts & Rec!" Fantasy and Fiction exhibition, which started just last week. "The Forest Has Eyes" is on display in Lakeland's city-wide art exhibit at the Lake Crago Outdoor Recreation Complex until September 7! It is for sale and can be purchased on...

[Dragonmun Studios] A Month of Adventure

I seem to like traveling in April.

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule

Man, maybe the hardest thing about doing any kind of work is coming back from a vacation away from it. I just got home from a week of hiking in the mountains of North Carolina and all I want to do is sit on the cabin porch, watching the fish. It was amazing. The whole month of April was amazing!

It started with visiting Chicago for C2E2, where I did the tourist thing a bit and trucked around the city on foot/by bus. ...

[Dragonmun Studios] Support "Local"

What is local anyway?

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule

Ya know, my definition of "local" is wildly different than most. Apparently if I'm in my car for two hours, it's still close enough for me! It's honestly pretty funny when someone asks "are you local" and I say "yeah, Orlando" in response.

In addition to "local" events I have books and art in "local" stores as well! If you find yourself in downtown DeLand, check out  Bloom Endeavors for a really cool selection by me and my friend...

[Dragonmun Studios] Marching Along

Over the decomposing body of February

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule

Hello everyone, and welcome to the correspondence my friends from the Inverness Walk of Arts!

Last week I sent a head's up email about a last-minute online event that I was able to get into, which is Read an Ebook week, presented by Smashwords! That, and the sale that I'm running to celebrate, run until the end of the week (Saturday at midnight). Details in the header at http://shop.dragonmun.com.

That wasn't the o...

[Dragonmun Studios] Last Minute Free Book!

You know, the one that won an award!

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule

Free Book!

This all worked out so last minute, but Sivoa: Sunrise will be free to read via Smashwords from March 2 to March 8! Since so much of the artwork on my website is oriented around this novel series, everything there will be 25% off during that time! Use code RAEW25 at checkout to take advantage of all this awesomeness!

If you already follow me on Patreon (it's free!), these monthly emails may wind up repeat...

[Dragonmun Studios] Stepping Back for Fairies

Social Media is Killing Me.

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule

Well, I was going to start of this month and newsletter by announcing that I'll be participating in the #Faebuary/#Febufairy/FairyFebruary challenge again… and I will be, but probably only on Discord, Patreon, and next month's newsletter. I think that I need to back away from actively interacting on social media for my own wellbeing.

"But Heather! How will you keep up with the news?!"

This is the immediate question that I ge...

[Dragonmun Studios] Progression

That's my word for the year!

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule  •   Sivoa: Zenith Kickstarter

I really had to sit and think about the word I wanted as my mantra for this year. I wanted something motivating and "forward-thinking," but I didn't  want it to be so much so that I wound up feeling like a failure for not quite meeting its implied momentum. I initially thought of "gaining traction," but that was two words and honestly was about grip. I don't know that I want to cling to every...

[Dragonmun Studios] Year of the Dragon Retrospective

Central Florida Secretly Has it Going on!

Home  •   Patreon  •   Discord  •   Event Schedule

Just like that, I'm writing the last newsletter of the year. How nuts! 2024 was chock-full of wild adventures and new art things. I want to give a run-down of it all, but frankly that would be enough content to fill a zine with – which I am also actually doing.

A few years back, Patreon subscribers at the $10+ sketch tier got to vote on what I would do next and it was decided that I'd make an annual zine featu...
