Judith James, is an avid reader and history buff who grew up in Montreal Quebec. She is also a bit of an adventure junkie and has travelled, worked and lived many places, including the Arctic and several of the places she writes about. Variously employed as a trail guide, horse trainer, and clinical psychologist, she's had the opportunity to live out many of her dreams. She’s even found the perfect place to settle on the East Coast, with a view of the ocean from her window. Judith’s writing combines her love of history, romance and adventure with her keen interest in the complexities of human nature, and the heart’s capacity to heal. Ms James is always pleased to hear from fellow readers and writers and invites you to visit her at www.Judit ...more

That's wonderful to know. Thank you so much. I'm afraid I'm new to independent publishing and still have a lot to learn. Frankly I'd be delighted to make it available but I'm not sure how it's done. I have sent an inquiry to KDP. I know it is available for borrowing in the KDP library and KDP select so hopefully it should be simple to arrange.

Thanks so much for letting me know! (less)

Unfortunately, I am currently enrolled in the KDP program which means that I can't publish it in e-format anywhere else for a three month period. You can download a free app from amazon to tablet, phone or computer to read but I realize that is not ideal. It will be available in print at the end of this month or in early November, depending on how long it takes for full distribution. There are no restrictions to the print edition so it will be available through all the regular channels. I apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks very much again for your kind words. (less)

Highwayman Cover

I am thrilled to release The Highwayman, the third book in the Rakes and Rogues series at last. One of the toughest hurdles in launching the series was finding the right covers. These stories aren't traditional romance in the current sense of the word, nor are they traditional historicals. They are a blend of fact and fiction, history and romance, with a dash of adventure, a generous helping of se Read more of this blog post »

“He spoke to her, though, if only through his verse. One night in the banqueting hall, just before a ball, he responded to requests for a verse by raising his glass high. Though he spoke to them all his eyes were on her.

"Tis not that I am weary grown
Of being yours, and yours alone,
But with what face can I incline
To damn you to be only mine?"

She walked out before she heard the rest.”
Judith James, Libertine's Kiss

“I love you, Catherine. You claimed my heart soon after we met, a beautiful Highland selkie who kept me safe within her cave. No one ever came to my rescue before. I laughed and I teased you, but I'd never been so deeply moved. While I was waiting at The Hague, I promised myself I'd tell you as soon as I saw you again." He wet a taut nipple with his tongue and blew on it gently. "It made me very happy to admit it. You're the only one I've ever truly loved." He turned his attention to the other tip, one hand plumping her as the other tickled its peak. She whimpered and he soothed her with a wet kiss. She moaned, gripping his shoulders as her heels dug in the ground. He lifted his
head and looked straight into her eyes. "I feared I'd lost you when I saw you in that river. You're the only thing that gives my life meaning, Catherine. I love you." His lips brushed the corner of her mouth. "I love you," he breathed against her lips. "I love you!" He enfolded her in his arms and
thrust his tongue deep in her mouth, claiming her in a voluptuous kiss.”
Judith James, Highland Rebel

“He groaned and leaned his forehead against hers, “You drive me mad, Elizabeth. I dream I am holding you every night. I wake in a sweat, aching and disappointed. Dreams of you have replaced my nightmares, but they leave me empty and restless and my body on fire. I can't even remember why we argued. I don't care how things went wrong.”
