Convalescence
Just had an operation on my septum, bent no More
It feels like I have the flu, and quite Sore
It feels like I'm crying...maybe I Am
Not cos' of the pain, my Soul is in a Jam
I sit here in my comfy Chair, looking out into the Night
My garden is lit up with dozens of pretty Lights
It's quite therapeutic watching the Hedgehogs Dine
We feed them every night...It's quite a Pastime
I love the wildlife in my garden...Sanctuary...a safe Place
Away from nasty vehicles and the Human Rat Race
I feed the Birds too, built many feeders and water fonts...Quenches
It's a great feeling watching from one of my two Benches
It's attracting all the local Cats
We even have a few Bats
Dragon flies and Butterflies, many Bees Too
My garden. My Utopia. My Sanctuary...stops me Feeling Blue
As I sit here now, staring at the Dark
Insomnia, Melancholy...boosts my creative Spark
I'm really lucky to have a Woman that Cares and Loves Me
Without her to be honest...I'm Simply...Empty...
Oh! Here come the Tears again...it's only a Symptom
Well I have just had an operation on my Septum...
I already mentioned that...feeling Tired Now
Have to hopefully catch some Z's...Somehow
I could quite easily sit here all night long...but struggling now...Pathetic
Only sleep I've had is the time under Anaesthetic
Anyhow better turn in now, I Need to Dream
Hopefully a nice one...Like a Cat that's found a Gallon of Cream
