I love to help, therefore I do so. However helping is, or can be awkward in how one goes about it. It requires skill to write well, as it takes skill to help well. Not all books are written by skilled authors. I wrote a book, but my message in it is better than the delivery of the message its self. So, good reads could mean well said, or good message, or even something else. What is sought by the reader is possibly as different as the many writers that write. So types of writing exist, such as fiction, non fiction, etc. I suggest types of readers are as plentiful... match making a book to a reader is not easy.
A book store could be like a singles bar or singles club to to some people. They may not realize that abstract parallel but that is my observation and I'm sticking to it.
As for my reading, I enjoy pure facts, engineering books and the like... yet, I am a very personable person that takes everything personal and cares very much about idealistic things.. So am I a contradiction? I think not, just me is what I am.
Who are the people who read my book? well they could be almost anyone. Not at all like me. But I did get some feedback once by a reader of my book, he called it "Liberal dribble". Of course I took that personally, but so what, he is someone who wants something else out of a book. My book was not a good read to him. So I ask, what is a good read?
