June 2nd is National Gun Violence Awareness Day so from June 1-3, I’m discounting FINAL NOTICE (e-book) from $3.99 to $2.99 AND making a $1 donation for each download during those 3 days! Yikes! I’m an Author!!!
I knew I wrote the book. I knew I edited it and I knew I approved the cover, print version and ebook version. I also knew that I had received 5 (out of 5) top mark reviews, but until UPS arrived with the actual books, it hadn’t really sunk in. Holding it in my hands was reality. Thanks to everyone who helped me and encouraged me. Now it’s all about getting the word out on social media so again, thank you all in advance. On Sunday, November 12th, Final Notice is being featured as the Book of the Day and all proceeds will be going to the Sutherland Springs Community Association and Everytown for Gun Safety. Final Notice Book Sales to Support Sutherland Church Victims
Despite what some people in the White House may say, the tragic shooting in Texas is about guns. Final Notice is about guns, too, so on Sunday, 12th November, all proceeds from Final Notice book sales will go to the Sutherland Springs Community Association and Everytown for Gun Safety. In addition, a free MP3 download of a companion song is being offered. What Would You Do If You Knew – For Certain – That You Had 10, 20 or 30 Days To Live?
My book, Final Notice, deals with this question and readers will see the various actions taken by Final Notice recipients. But what would you do? And why? And as demonstrated in the book, sometimes people chose to act in a way that was at odds with their usual behavior. Would you consider something that no one would expect of you? Even something illegal? All answers will be kept anonymous but I will share top line numbers and some of the more interesting replies as they come in.

Where have all the flowers gone?

Pete Seeger couldn’t have imagined my crude re-work of his 1955 classic, “Where Have All The Flowers Gone,” made famous by Peter, Paul & Mary. (Yes, I’m that old.)
He did understand, however, the fundamental truth of his refrain, “When will we ever learn?” And the answer, when it comes to guns, is apparently, never. Our amnesia, or should I say our politicians’ amnesia, is fueled by money from the NRA. Vote their way or they’ll do what they can to vote you out. Not very much in keeping with our founding fathers’ intentions, but then, they are masters at that.
I started writing a book last year that was part sci-fi and part anti-ageism but it naturally morphed itself into an attack on our lack of effective gun control. The book, Final Notice, will be released during the first week of November on Amazon and other book outlets. Writing it was therapeutic and I have employed a healthy dose of dark humor to deal with the seriousness of the issue. The NRA will hate it.
