FOR HORROR WEEK--Did You Know?
I am mostly known for clean, sweet, historical, western romance, but did you know I had written a HORROR story with the inimitable Jane Lebak?
One could actually include all the tags above (except historical) when describing the tale, but acclaimed horror author Susan May was gracious enough to have reviewed, saying: "This has to be one of the best horror stories I've read in a long time. I'm a horror write(r) myself and I would admit to a little bit of author envy that I wish I'd written it."

Spring
I wanted to share pictures of my magnolia tree with you today but realized there is no way to add photos to the blog. Oh, well, you can always check out https://www.facebook.com/AvenueAntiques and look for #MagnoliaProject or check out Betababe on Twitter.
Why magnolias? Because--SPRING! which is arriving about a month later than usual. I always look for forsythia as one of the earlier blooming bushes and where I live (east coast) they are just beginning to shine forth. And the fruit trees (although D.C.'s cherry blossoms seemed to peak mid-snowstorms last month) are becoming lacy. But my Grande Dame Magnolia is now in full bridal regalia--and being pummeled by yet another cold front with its screaming 20 mph winds and violent downpours of rain (well, at least not snow this time).
But, to use my husband's favorite "me, whining? never!" phrase, I'm not complaining! I am pleased for our newly planted trees that we got a good soaking rain (yeah, could have done without the nasty stuff, but still . . .) and thrilled Mother Nature played nice (sort of) this year and didn't send a week of mid-summer 80s followed by sub-arctic temperatures uncommon for these parts (and repeat, TWICE!) as she did last year, blighting my beauty like Miss Cavendish. (Literary reference for literary blog--but feel free to ask if you can't remember high school lit.)

Bragging
What kind of author would I be were I to fail to share with you the birth of my latest novella? Part of the First Street Church Kindle World (and thus FREE on Kindle Unlimited), Love's Sweet Memories came out on Amazon last night.
LSM is Book 2 of the Hanson Saga, continuing on the heels of Book 1, Love's Odds , which tells the story of Melissa Ricci. Working with Melissa I was introduced to the Sweet Grove of her Grandmother who had lived there since childhood and married into a family whose roots went back for generations.
Turns out that small town Sweet Grove has a special draw that keeps families strong and, even if they leave they maintain their ties--and often come back.
Which brings us to book two which absolutely can be read as a standalone story. (Why you would want to I have no idea--these are meant to be quick reads; your favorite bonbon from a box of chocolates.) If you did read the books in order you will find Easter eggs; if LSM is your first introduction to Sweet Grove, then welcome!
Feel free to drop me a line, ask questions, ask me never to darken your doorstep again. And, if you like one of the books, please review; if you have issues with it, please tell me so I can do better next time.
