If I need to take a break--or life forces me to take a break--I roll with it. I know my book or project will be there waiting for me when I'm ready.

The story I'm trying to tell is never far from my heart or my thoughts. It becomes a part of me and some of the strongest emotions and plot ideas/scenes come when I'm not in front of my laptop.

I've even come to love the revision and re-writing parts of the process because nothing is more satisfying than making those words sing.

It's also pretty great to hold your book in your hands for the first time. I just experienced that in the last few days, and it's everything you hope it would be. (less)
