Tim sees an annual pilgrimage of lost and somewhat bewildered students who feel the education system has failed them. Coming to the end of their year or simply dropping out, these young people present to him for a medical and disclose their terrible experiences of the education system that provides them with less than they may have perceived.
Some of these school leavers feel disillusioned with the process of education and others struggle through the experience of transition to working life. One thing in common with all is that they generally have a lower self-esteem that they are deserved.
Over the past few years Tim has progressively seen an increase in the number of school leavers go through his office often devoid of the education and wisdom that comes with it. With this in mind Tim decided to write his life story and struggle with education to show people what was actually possible.
Drawing on his own school experiences mixed by the diversity of a Christian Boys College Experience and the rigors of the faith, Tim takes to reader on a journey through his life as he saw it through a learning disorder impeded education. The lessons in school and those in Boys College proved to be a lesser influence on him than the lessons learn from within his Grandfathers Garden (The local cemetery hi grandfather tends), a place he frequented as a boy. The cemetery becomes his school where he learns of social class, difference and leveler, death.
From within the Garden Tim’s life evolves to a career no one would have though possible impeded by Dyslexia and leaving school not having even completed year 10. Within the book are lessons we can all learn from as we see the sudden evolution of Tim’s life as he finds his Cocaine. His Cocaine is today the academic skills and competence achieved through knowledge, spurred on by the acquisition of wisdom that have led to his recognition and self-esteem realizing 'You can do anything you want, you just have to find, not be told what it is'.
