Top 10 Devotionals for Women in 2026
IntroductionHello, beautiful souls! If you're here, it's likely because you're on a journey to deepen your relationship with Christ. Devotionals are a wonderful way to enrich your spiritual life, offering daily doses of wisdom, inspiration, and the Word of God. In this article, we'll explore the top 10 devotionals for women in 2026, each carefully selected to help you grow in faith and find peace in His presence.
However, let me make a disclaimer: devotionals, while wonderful, are not a replacement for the Word of God. It’s important you take in Scripture first and use a devotional as an added resource. In fact, I only read devotionals occasionally. Usually as a source of encouragement on a specific topic that pertains to something I’m walking through. Please do not mistake devotionals for your primary sustenance. Get into God’s Word first and foremost, and allow devotionals to serve as an added reading like a book.

BooksUntouchable—Unraveling the Myth That You Are Too Faithful to Fall: Too many Christians, especially those in ministry, believe they are untouchable—that they're too faithful to fall or too spiritual to give in to temptation. They deny any sort of weakness, fail to draw proper boundaries, and end up doing the very things they swore they'd never do. In this book I unravel the myth of being untouchable, showing how we start to believe the lie, and how we can protect ourselves from temptation. Ultimately showing that to truly flourish in life, you must be willing to admit weakness—and that no one is beyond God's redeeming love.
Here I Am—Responding When God Calls Your Name: Constant noise and distraction clamor for our attention and make it difficult to distinguish God's voice from the voices surrounding us. In this book I teach believers how to discern the voice of God and live out the plans God has for them by silencing the other voices so it's God's voice that prevails, tuning out the world and tuning in to the voice of God, and gaining the confidence to step out in faith.

Epic Fails : Abraham
Lying. Murder. Sexual Immorality. Disobedience. These are but a few of the sins committed by the Bible's prominent pillars. They were people who made epic failures in their moments of weakness, yet they are also people God redeemed and used in powerful ways to build His Kingdom.
That's what this new series is all about: exploring mighty men and women of God who had epic failures along the way. My prayer is that it's an encouragement to you and me in our own faith journey; to know that no matter what we've done in the past, God still has a purpose for us. The stories of these prominent figures are captivating and full of great lessons we can take as a cautious warning.
Today, we start with the father of Israel, Abraham. A man credited with incredible faith and revered for his place in our heritage. Even so, he was still a man and one who made a few mistakes.
The Backstory on AbramWhat's interesting is that Abram (as he was originally named) didn’t grow up in a godly home or have a great spiritual influence. He didn’t start with the makings of being the great patriarch of Israel. In fact, Abram came from a godless home in a wicked nation. Not much to start with, which makes him a perfect candidate for many of us to relate to.
We first learn about this great figure in Genesis 12 as God calls Abram to the faith. He is living in Haran with his family when God reveals Himself to the man and commands him to go to a new land. God is calling Abram to sever his ties—the comfort that he had clung to for so long—and take a faith journey into the unknown. Yet five times, God says "I will” in the first three verses of the chapter., indicating that Abram would not travel alone.
Over the many years, Abram followed God's instructions, usually never knowing what the next step would be. And in that, his faith grew leaps and bounds through the various trials. However, there were a few bumps along the way.
Sister WifeNot long after Abram stepped out to follow God, a famine hit the land he was in, and so he decided to take his family to Egypt, where food was plentiful. The Bible is clear when God spoke to Abram, but this is not one of those moments. We never see God tell Abram to go, so it's believed that Abram made that decision on his own. Out of fear and uncertainty, Abram decided to move his family to a wicked nation. This was the first step down a dangerous path, showing us that when we decide to make decisions based off of what we think is best instead of what God says is best, we wander into risky territory.
Unfortunately, Abram’s poor decision didn't stop there. You see, he was married to the very beautiful Sarai, and he was afraid he would be killed by men in Egypt who wanted his wife. So he hatched a plan to go into Egypt as brother and sister instead of husband and wife. Abram was afraid of men, so he took matters into his own hands and decided to live a [partial] lie.
It worked for him, in a way. Abram wasn't killed, but men did find Sarai attractive, and she was taken into Pharaoh's harem.
God judges the situation and creates an opportunity for Abram and Sarai to leave untouched. Because we serve a great God who is kind and gracious, thankfully. But poor Abram—sometimes you have to wonder about him. Sadly, he didn’t learn from his mistake because in Genesis 20, he does the exact same thing in another country.
In between these two circumstances, God promised Abram that he would have descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky (Genesis 15) at a time when Abram and Sarai had no children. Eventually, Sarai convinced Abram to take matters into their own hands, and Abram slept with another woman to conceive a child. Another failure of Abraham’s—he chose to appease his wife rather than trust God’s promise for an heir. In the end, it caused great pain within the family.
Taking Control of Your Own LifeAbram showed a slight pattern of taking matters into his own hands when things got tough. Perhaps this is why God rarely showed Abram the next step—to teach him faith. And perhaps it's why Abram is now known as Abraham, full of faith. The man who was willing to lay his son on the altar because he believed in God's promise to provide heirs as numerous as the stars!
Most of the time, we can't see the next step, and we don't know what God is doing. Perhaps you've taken matters into your own hands before, and it didn't work out. I know I've been there. Thankfully, we get to have this beautiful relationship with a kind and gracious God who redeems our past for a flourishing future.
If you've tried your own way in the past and it didn't work, know that God can right the wrong turn. Perhaps you've told a few lies that have buried you under tension and fear. God can unload all that for you. Let Him be the director of your steps moving forward, and watch your faith grow as you trust in Him!

Exploring the Bible // 1 and 2 Corinthians
The First and Second Epistles to the Corinthians, commonly known as 1st Corinthians and 2nd Corinthians, are two books of the New Testament. Scholars generally agree that both letters were written by Paul, the prolific early Christian missionary, and theologian. The letters were likely composed in Ephesus, a city in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey), between AD 53 and 57.
Corinth was an important and prosperous city in ancient Greece, known for its wealth and cultural diversity. The Corinthian church, founded by Paul during his second missionary journey, was a vibrant but troubled community. The city's cosmopolitan atmosphere and the mix of various cultures and philosophies had influenced the behavior and beliefs of the Corinthian Christians. Paul's letters were written to address a variety of issues and challenges faced by the Corinthian church, ranging from divisions and moral problems within the community to questions about marriage, worship, and the resurrection of the dead.
Key Themes and Points in CorinthiansUnity and Division: One of the central themes in both letters is the importance of unity within the Christian community. Paul emphasizes the need for believers to be of the same mind, avoiding divisions and factions. He criticizes the Corinthians for their quarreling and emphasizes the importance of being united in Christ.
Church Discipline: Paul addresses the issue of immorality within the Corinthian church, instructing them to exercise church discipline. He stresses the significance of maintaining moral purity within the Christian community.
Marriage and Relationships: Paul provides guidance on marriage and relationships, discussing topics such as marital obligations, divorce, and celibacy. He emphasizes the sanctity of marriage and encourages spouses to fulfill their responsibilities to each other.
Worship and Spiritual Gifts: Paul discusses the proper conduct of worship services, including the use of spiritual gifts. He emphasizes the importance of love and orderly worship, urging believers to use their gifts for the edification of the entire community.
Resurrection: The concept of resurrection is a significant theological theme in both letters. Paul explains the importance of the resurrection of the dead, arguing that it is a fundamental belief for Christians. He discusses the nature of the resurrection body and its implications for believers' hope in the future.
Key Passages in Corinthians
1 Corinthians 13: Often referred to as the "love chapter," this passage eloquently describes the nature and importance of love. It emphasizes that love is the greatest virtue and surpasses all other spiritual actions.
1 Corinthians 15: In this chapter, Paul presents a detailed theological argument about the resurrection of the dead. He explains the significance of Christ's resurrection and its implications for the future resurrection of believers. The chapter ends with a triumphant declaration of victory over death through Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:7-18: Paul discusses the treasure of the gospel in earthen vessels, highlighting the paradoxical nature of Christian existence. He speaks of the challenges and hardships faced by believers, contrasting them with the eternal glory that awaits them in Christ. This passage underscores the theme of endurance and hope in the face of difficulties.
2 Corinthians 12:1-9: Paul reveals that he was given a "thorn in the flesh," an expression for a persistent hardship or weakness. He prayed three times for it to be removed, but God's response was, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." This passage highlights Paul's humility and dependence on God's grace, emphasizing the idea that God's strength is displayed in human weakness.
What We Can LearnIn summary, 1st and 2nd Corinthians are foundational texts in the New Testament, addressing a wide range of theological, ethical, and practical issues within the early Christian community. Paul's letters provide timeless wisdom and guidance for believers, emphasizing the importance of love, unity, moral purity, and proper worship. These letters continue to be studied and revered by Christians worldwide, offering valuable insights into the challenges and joys of Christian living.
Memory Verse“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)

Book of James // Bringing A Sinner Back
Take a moment and read James 5:19-20.
Have you ever had someone, maybe a close friend or church member, come to you with a concern? Maybe they commented on your attitude, a lifestyle choice, or a love interest. It’s easy in those moments to get offended and pull away from the conversation. Or maybe it's been the other way around and you've had to address another person's choices. Today, James ends his book with an exploration of this topic.
Addressing IssuesThere were people in the church at this time "wandering from the truth" and so James felt he should address what to do. When he uses this statement he is referring to people who had begun to slowly drift away from God's Word. Meaning, over time, there was the possibility a person could begin to slide back as they spent less time in Scripture.
You see, without being in the Word, people begin to make small decisions here and there that widen the gap between them and God. I've witnessed this in my own life; I get into a busy season and pray less, then begin relying on myself and making poor choices. This is what James is referring to.
It's in these moments we have a responsibility to go to our friend in love and share our concerns. Maybe a dear friend has started hanging out with some new friends and they get drunk on the weekends. Or perhaps your best friend is in a new relationship and you see some red flags that could lead to sexual immorality. If this is the case, then it's okay to go to them about what you see. Don't be afraid and remain silent; that doesn't help anyone.
The Wandering BelieverSomeone who is wandering should be a serious concern. Their actions may bring severe consequences or judgment that could have been avoided. Or perhaps their sin leads them to an eternal death. Or maybe the sin begins to creep into the Body and cause division. It is why you and I should be willing to have a heart-to-heart with those we love who fall into this category.
This doesn't mean spreading gossip or bringing others from the church into the situation because you are "concerned." It also doesn't mean going at it from a judgemental or corrective standpoint. There is a healthy way to handle this and it's going to your friend in private, as Matthew 18 shows us. It's going in love. Warren Wiersbe writes,
Where there is love, there must also be truth; and where there is truth, there is honest confession of sin and cleansing from God. Love not only helps the offender to face his sins and deal with them, but love also assures the offender that those sins, once forgiven, are remembered no more.
It's important we take responsibility to not only win the lost, but to also win the saved when the time calls for it.
Something we can be encouraged to do as well is to stay in the Word. Remain committed to reading the Bible each day so that the enemy cannot get a foothold in your life. This isn't a message just for others, but one for you.

Exploring the Bible // Romans
The Book of Romans, found in the New Testament of the Bible, is a profound and influential piece of literature that has shaped Christian theology for centuries. At its core, Romans is a letter written by the apostle Paul to the early Christian community in Rome. It stands as a comprehensive exposition of the Christian faith, exploring themes of salvation, righteousness, grace, and the role of the law.
Dating and Authorship of RomansPaul wrote the letter to the Romans around AD 56-58 during his third missionary journey, while he was in Corinth. The city of Rome, at the time, was a bustling cosmopolitan center of the Roman Empire, comprising both Jews and Gentiles. The Christian community in Rome likely consisted of both Jewish Christians and Gentile converts, creating a diverse congregation facing various challenges and questions about their faith.
The authorship of Romans is attributed to the apostle Paul, a prominent figure in early Christianity. The theological depth and consistency of the letter reflect Paul's distinctive style and teachings.
Key Themes1. Righteousness through Faith: At the heart of Romans lies the concept of righteousness through faith in Christ. Paul argues that both Jews and Gentiles are justified before God not by adherence to the Mosaic law but by faith in Jesus. This theme underscores the universal nature of salvation, offering hope and redemption to all who believe.
2. The Role of the Law: Paul addresses the relationship between the law and faith, emphasizing that the law, while holy and good, cannot justify humans before God. Instead, faith in Christ fulfills the law, highlighting the importance of grace and God's unmerited favor in the process of salvation.
3. Justification by Faith: The letter introduces the concept of justification by faith, emphasizing that all people, regardless of their past sins, can be declared righteous before God through faith in Jesus Christ. This key teaching has been foundational in Christian theology, emphasizing God's grace as the basis for salvation.
4. Sin and Redemption: Romans delves deeply into the human condition, highlighting the universality of sin and the need for redemption. Through Christ's sacrifice, humanity is offered reconciliation with God, paving the way for a transformed life and a restored relationship with the Creator.
5. Christian Living and Transformation: Paul emphasizes the transformative power of the Gospel, urging believers to live holy and righteous lives. He discusses the role of the Holy Spirit in sanctification, guiding believers toward a life characterized by love, humility, and obedience to God's will.
Key Passages1. Romans 1:16-17 - "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, 'The righteous shall live by faith.'"
In these verses, Paul succinctly captures the essence of the Gospel message and the righteousness that comes through faith in Christ.
2. Romans 3:23-24 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."
These verses underline the universal human condition of sin and the redemption available through God's grace and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
3. Romans 8:1 - "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
This verse provides assurance to believers, emphasizing the freedom from condemnation and the security found in Christ.
4. Romans 12:1-2 - "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
These verses serve as a call to holy living, urging believers to offer themselves as living sacrifices and emphasizing the renewal of the mind through spiritual transformation.
What We Can LearnThe Book of Romans stands as a theological masterpiece, providing profound insights into the core tenets of the Christian faith. Its teachings on righteousness, faith, grace, and the transformative power of the Gospel continue to inspire and guide millions of believers worldwide. As a letter penned by the apostle Paul to a diverse and complex audience, Romans remains a timeless and universal message of hope, redemption, and the boundless love of God.
Memory Verse“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV)

Book of James // How to Win Your Battles
Take a moment and read James 5:13-18.
"The battle is won in prayer" is something my youth pastor, Scotty Gibbons, used to say often when I was a teenager. As a new believer soaking up all I could about God and His word, these words were pivotal in who I would become. To learn early on in my faith that prayer changes things is something I very much cherish to this day. (Thank you, Pastor Scotty!)
I remember we used to have these Wednesday night prayer times before youth service called Warfare Prayer and to look back at those memories are endearing. A generation of teenagers learning how to pray! That principle carried over into my Master's Commission days as we would pray every morning in that same student center for an hour. Those formative years as a Christian really taught me a valuable lesson about prayer that has changed my life.
James gives a call to prayer in these verses and makes it very clear prayer is necessary. Are you suffering? Pray. Are you happy? Pray. Are you sick? Pray. Any and every situation requires it. Warren Wiersbe writes,
God balances our lives and gives us hours of suffering and days of singing. The mature Christian knows how to sing while he is suffering. (Anybody can sing after the trouble has passed.)The Power of Praise and Prayer
Prayer and praise are key indicators of where a believer stands. As you mature through life you learn the importance and power of prayer and praise.
It's easy to praise when life is good, but prayer may go neglected. In reverse, prayer is never stronger than in the storm, but praise falls to the waste side. What I hope you can take away from this post is that both are necessary for a faith-filled life, no matter the season.
James talks about the kind of prayer we should be praying in verse 15, which is the "prayer offered in faith." The prayer in faith is defined in 1 John 5:14-15,
And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
Prayer must be confident that He whom we pray to not only hears us but is able to respond. And wants to respond. However, we must ask according to His will. If you ask to be blessed financially just so you can have a nice house, fancy clothes, and a comfortable life, God may not answer such a request because it is rooted in self-fulfillment. If you ask to get back together with an ex-girlfriend because it's what you want and it will erase your pain, that may not be God's will. However, if you pray according to God's desires for your life, then you can be confident He will answer.
Honestly, as I've witnessed in my own life, God always answers prayer. It may not be in the way you had hoped or specifically asked, but God always works out a situation for the best possible outcome in the Kingdom. Furthermore, a key to answered prayer is the confession of sins. Cultivate a repentant heart that aligns with God's heart, because this will help you to be further tuned into God's desires and remove obstacles from the heart.
As Human As ElijahI really love how James ends this test of prayerfulness with the story of Elijah (which can be found in 1 Kings 17-18). It's a powerful and intriguing story, so I would encourage you to read it. Essentially, a king by the name of Ahab is ruling over Israel and he is a wicked king. In fact, the Bible says, "Ahab did more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him." Now, there were many evil kings who ruled over Israel, so this is a pretty strong statement to Ahab's character and disobedience.
Elijah is a prophet at this time and goes to Ahab to let him know there will be no rain, and we know from James 5 that Elijah prayed this according to God's will. More than 3 years go by without rain, all the while Elijah is being used for miraculous feats. After these 3 years, the Lord tells Elijah to go back to Ahab to send the rain back, but only after an incredible showdown between Elijah and the Prophets of Baal to call rain down on Earth. The story gives me goosebumps! And eventually, God sends rain at the prayer of Elijah.
The best part about these few verses in James about the story of Elijah is that it calls Elijah "as human as we are." It's as if God is speaking to our doubts that anyone can pray and see the miraculous happen. Elijah was just as human as any of us, and look what happened! Why wouldn't God do the same for you or me?
I don't know where you're at today or what you might be going through. I do know that regardless of your season, you are called to pray. To pray with power and confidence. To expect the unexpected to happen. To truly believe that the battle is won in prayer.
Go to battle today as you pray and watch God work!
NOTE: If you're looking for a great book on prayer I recommend Mark Batterson's The Circle Maker.

Exploring the Bible // Acts
The Book of Acts, also known as the Acts of the Apostles, is the fifth book of the New Testament in the Bible. It was written by Luke, the beloved physician and companion of the Apostle Paul. Luke is also the author of the Gospel of Luke. The dating of the book is a topic of scholarly debate, but it is generally thought to have been written between AD 70 and 90.
Acts serves as a continuation of the Gospel of Luke, providing a historical account of the early days of the Christian church. The book begins with the ascension of Jesus into heaven, forty days after his Resurrection. The disciples, in obedience to Jesus' command, wait in Jerusalem until they are filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. This event marks the birth of the church and the beginning of the disciples' mission to spread the message of Jesus Christ to the world.
The central theme of Acts is the spread of the Gospel from Jerusalem to Rome, reaching both Jews and Gentiles (non-Jews). The book highlights the ministry of key apostles, especially Peter and Paul, and their efforts to establish and strengthen Christian communities in various cities throughout the Roman Empire.
Highlights in ActsActs can be divided into several key sections:
The Early Church in Jerusalem (Acts 1-7): The disciples, empowered by the Holy Spirit, preach the Gospel in Jerusalem and perform miracles. The community of believers grows rapidly, but they also face persecution from religious authorities.
Expansion of the Church to Judea and Samaria (Acts 8-12): The Gospel spreads to neighboring regions, including Samaria and other parts of Judea. Philip, one of the early followers of Jesus, plays a significant role in these events. Saul, who later becomes the Apostle Paul, is introduced as a persecutor of Christians but undergoes a dramatic conversion.
Gospel to the Gentiles (Acts 13-18): Paul and Barnabas are sent on missionary journeys to preach to Gentile communities. They face both acceptance and opposition as they establish Christian congregations in various cities. The Jerusalem Council (Acts 15) is convened to address the issue of Gentile believers and the requirements of the Jewish law.
Paul's Arrest and Trials (Acts 19-26): Paul continues his missionary journeys, facing opposition and arrest. He delivers powerful speeches defending his faith and eventually appeals to Caesar, exercising his right as a Roman citizen. This leads to his journey to Rome, where he preaches even while under house arrest.
Paul's Journey to Rome and Conclusion (Acts 27-28): The book concludes with Paul's journey to Rome as a prisoner. Despite challenges, including a shipwreck, he safely arrives in Rome. The book ends with Paul proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ, even while under house arrest.
Key Teachings in ActsKey teachings and themes in the Book of Acts include:
The Holy Spirit:Acts emphasizes the role of the Holy Spirit in empowering and guiding the early believers. The Holy Spirit enables them to speak in different languages, perform miracles, and boldly proclaim the Gospel. [If you’d like further reading on the Holy Spirit you can do that here.]
Salvation through Faith in Jesus:The book underscores the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. The apostles preach repentance and forgiveness of sins, emphasizing the importance of belief in Jesus' death and resurrection.
Inclusivity of the Gospel:Acts highlights the inclusion of Gentiles in God's plan of salvation. The barrier between Jews and Gentiles is broken down through Christ, and the Gospel is meant for people of all nations and backgrounds.
Community Life and Sharing:
The early believers are depicted as a community of people who share their possessions, care for one another, and worship together. Acts presents a vision of a united and caring Christian community.
Perseverance Through Trials:The book illustrates the challenges faced by early Christians, including persecution, opposition, and imprisonment. Despite these trials, the believers remain steadfast in their faith, relying on God's strength and guidance.
What We Can LearnThe Book of Acts provides a historical account of the early Christian church, highlighting the spread of the Gospel, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the perseverance of believers in the face of challenges.
