What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Mary Faderan I don't know what it is that the best thing about being a writer. Obviously I'd like to make a living as a writer and author. Now I'm in the learning …moreI don't know what it is that the best thing about being a writer. Obviously I'd like to make a living as a writer and author. Now I'm in the learning curve which has somehow gotten a bit steep as the bar keeps moving up and almost out of reach. Basically, writing is fun for me because I'm making a story with interesting characters (at least to me). But the whole idea of getting up to 50K words is daunting and it can be a bit of a drag. I finally got to 50K words with the last novel I wrote and I somehow felt rather proud of that, which is rather a specious thing to think of my book, but well NaNoWriMo seems to think that 50K words is a big goal. And other publishers online are asking for 50K or more to even review books that are submitted. I have to say this is rather a difficult journey for any writer or aspiring writer. I think once you have what you need to say you need to say Enough and get it submitted or published on your own.(less)
