After giving up her dream of becoming a movie star/dancer/singer, Selena decided that her second-in-line dream was to pursue her passion for writing.

She writes eclectic stories with heroines and heroes who always fly by the seat of their pants without a safety net, and somehow manage to untangle themselves from the mess and conflicts she’s plunged them into.

Her critically acclaimed work has been described as genre-defying, witty, humorous, suspenseful, romantic, and sexy.

My best advice would be to write every single day, even if it's a blog post. The more you write, the more confidence you will gain. Write from the heart and then edit with your head and leave your ego behind. (less)

Pasta e Patate: Italian Comfort in a Bowl

This blog post is dedicated to my son, who keeps insisting I write down Nonna’s traditional recipes. Apparently, he believes our family recipes deserve their own historical preservation society.

Some recipes aren’t meant to impress dinner guests; they’re meant to remind you where you came from.

Every Friday night, my mom made a dish we called pasta e patate, (potatoes and pasta). It’s a simp

“He held her face in his hands and his gaze warmed her sadness. “I don’t care how you got here. I’m just happy you were born.” He rubbed noses with hers. “Real happy.”
Selena Robins, What a Girl Wants

“Embracing and being thankful for the family and friends I do have instead of yearning for the family I cannot know or have has helped erase the hollowness I felt when I first found out. When I consider my good health, sense of humor, adventurous side, creative gifts and even my quirky phobias, I am grateful that the two people responsible for creating me existed.” (Maddie Saunders, the heroine)”
Selena Robins, What a Girl Wants

“There was no way to lead up to this gently. With a surge of assertiveness driven by desire as well as a couple of cosmopolitans, she took both his hands in hers and mustered up her confidence. “I want you to lick me cross-eyed.”
“You want me to what?”
“Okay, that sounded better inside my head.” She squeezed his hands. “I want sex. Great sex. Alex, let’s do it.”
Selena Robins, What a Girl Wants

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”
Audrey Hepburn

“There's a hell of a distance between wise-cracking and wit. Wit has truth in it; wise-cracking is simply calisthenics with words.”
Dorothy Parker

“There was no way to lead up to this gently. With a surge of assertiveness driven by desire as well as a couple of cosmopolitans, she took both his hands in hers and mustered up her confidence. “I want you to lick me cross-eyed.”

Selena Robins, What a Girl Wants

“I’m sorry. I forgot this is Maddie’s world of sex and the rest of us star in it.”
She punctuated each word, poking her finger in his chest. “And you should be grateful.”
Selena Robins, What a Girl Wants

“Life’s a beach and then you have sex on it.” Maddie Saunders' philosophy”
