The End is Nigh
Hi Readers
I’m not one to beat around the bush so I’ll be brief.
This website will soon come to an end. This is mainly because my fiction writing is about to branch out. That’s right! I am leaving Nether-Staining…or rather my mind is wandering to new pastures…pastures which are a bit different and will hopefully deliver more regular content from a posting viewpoint.
This will coincide with the release of a new fiction novel which I am currently polishing.
For those of you who read this and act, thank you, and I hope to see you at my new site (please do click and follow)
I hope to see you there.
And just in case you still haven’t dabbled into the universe that is Nether-Staining, please click on the book covers below to learn more…but best to start with “Baabaric“…

BLACK FRIDAY 13th – FREE EBOOKS! HAPPY CHRISTMAS READERS!
Hi Everyone
My own Black Friday is here at last, and rather than attempt to flog stuff you don’t want, I’m giving away two, YES TWO, quality ebooks that will hopefully make you laugh. What can be better than the gift of humour? Trust me, it isn’t free money or cheap TVs.
Nether-Staining in Yorkshire has some eerie goings-on and this Christmas maybe you can visit the brave, heroic villagers in their efforts to work out what on earth is threatening their way of life…
From the start of Friday 13th to end of Tuesday 17th December (USPT), “Baabaric” and “Stoned” will be FREE for KINDLE. Download now!
And if you’ve read those, why not move on to “Pickled“, “Blasphemy” and “(Im)Perfect” in pursuit of the series finale…
Please download and enjoy (and leave a review if you do enjoy them, otherwise, please forget my generosity)!

COMING SOON…FREE!! BLACK FRIDAY 13TH – HAPPY CHRISTMAS
Hi Everyone
It gets tiresome every year when Black Friday comes around and it just an excuse for retailers to attempt to offload all of their cr*p on the public in a desperate attempt to make their sales look good before new stock arrives. The sad thing is that in some way, shape or form, we all seem to fall for it every year…and some folks even think it is worth fighting over. A strange world we inhabit.
Anyway, I’ve decided to go one better than these retailers and actually gift you, dear reader, a pair of ebooks for Christmas…and on Friday 13th also to mirror the eerie goings-on in Nether-Staining…
From the start of Friday 13th to end of Tuesday 17th December (USPT), “Baabaric” and “Stoned” will be FREE for KINDLE.
Please download and enjoy (and leave a review if you do enjoy them, otherwise, please forget my generosity)!

Readers, Where For Art Thou?
Hi folks
I was sitting here pondering about writing books and the challenges that sit alongside such a feat…
It occurred to me that writing is far more than just putting words into a legible state and sensible order…
Is it really a good idea to invent words or spellings when you’ve got to check it all? Is it a good idea to have deities as characters in your tales which means trying to capitalise every ‘H’ in He or His? Is it a good idea to write multiple books in a series when advertising and the cut-through is such a challenge in a sea of e-books? Does it make sense to write books that don’t easily slot into a particular genre?
What price is fair when you’ve spent a long time delivering the best product you can but you also want it to be accessible to as many people as possible? How long should be spent pushing out content on social media channels, and should it be disassociated to the stories you write?
There are a lot of questions which I didn’t think about when I started tapping out letters on a keyboard about 7 years ago but which I had to learn on the way.
I count success that if I enjoy writing it and am pleased with the final product; and if only one person enjoys reading it then that is all good.
Thankfully it isn’t just one person in the main and it is wonderful to read impartial reviews when they come back.
And now that “(Im)Perfect” is in the public ether, I await the first feedback…because hearing from readers is a real highlight. If you have yet to give any of my books a try, all I can say is that I hope you do and if so, thank you for joining me on the journey of discovery.

(Im)Perfect is Now Available
Hi Readers!
Any of you who have had the pleasure of delighting in “Baabaric“, “Stoned“, “Pickled” and “Blasphemy” will likely not require a great deal of persuasion to delve into part FIVE in the Annals of Nether-Staining, available right now!
Does five parts make it a Space Opera? I don’t know. I’m not sure I know what a Space Opera actually is.
Click HERE to visit the “(Im)Perfect” page which has links to all of your favourite Amazon Kindle and Paperback webpages for this exciting new chapter in the saga…and just maybe this time it is the end…or is it?
If you haven’t commenced from the very beginning as yet, or if perhaps you want a refresher, then it is never too late to dive in. I give you my thanks and wishes for a pleasant journey in advance.

What is (Im)Perfect all about?
You saw the cover last week…so now perhaps your appetite has been well and truly whetted and you are overwhelmed with expectation? If not, why are you here?
So here is a brief synopsis to whet it further…I will announce the release date soon, and with feeling…and if you have yet to start the series (why not? are you mad?), perhaps I can recommend going back to the beginning with “Baabaric” and working forwards from there.

SOMEONE IS ABOUT TO DIE…BUT THERE IS FAR WORSE AFOOT
Nether-Staining, Yorkshire and indeed Earth has been destroyed by Gods, yes plural, and the population, which was rescued by aliens just prior to Armageddon, is an accident waiting to happen because they have nothing to do but drink of the Priest’s Hole: the primary reason for their rescue.
But although a life of continuous inebriation sounds wonderful, such delight can only last as long as the beer supply, especially when the alternative drink has a very dubious name. The Universe is about to run out of beer and finding the ingredients to make more is now a matter of life and death.
Heroes are often required in such situations and this time maybe Hippo Man and Blue Boy will meet their match because, quite frankly, superpowers are not in their repertoire and they might just need them.
Journeying across space, time and beyond in search of ale, a good cup of Yorkshire Tea and a bacon sandwich has never been so tough but when you have friendship, a dog, a robot, a space tractor with an attitude problem and someone who cannot stop recalling his many roles in questionable adult movies you have always got a chance.
Maybe this time it is the end…but maybe it is actually the beginning.

(Im)Perfect is almost perfected
Great news!
The next novel in the Annals of Nether-Staining is nearing completion and will be available in both Kindle and Paperback formats. But don’t just take my word for it…here is a picture of the next cover…and here is a review which is about as trustworthy as those you see on any webpage near you…
“What a joyous read! A little risqué and bags of humour! Perhaps the series is at at end but I wouldn’t bank on it and nor would I perhaps want it to be.” – by Graham

A Bird in the Hand is Worth TWO in the Bush
I’ve certainly been quiet in recent months.
This is largely due to my working on two, yes TWO (!!), novels at the same time.
The fifth, and probably final, part of the Annals of Nether-Staining is going through the quality control/editing process at present. I can reveal to you here that this novel is going to be called “(Im)Perfect“…slightly ironic that I’m doing quality control at all you may think. I’ll share the cover with you in due course.
As if this isn’t exciting enough, I’m also working on a post-pandemic set of intertwined short stories. This is something I first began composing around four, yes FOUR, years ago but then hit a bit of a brick wall. But then ideas began to creep into my head and so I found a way to continue. The editing process has just begun here so it’ll publish a bit behind “(Im)Perfect“.
I’ll confirm everything in the coming weeks and months but stay tuned and please follow to ensure you get posts as I write them.
And if you haven’t stepped into Nether-Staining’s environs yet, please begin with “Baabaric“…you know you want to…
