Born in Denmark, HM grew up in a scholastic family with Croatian, Swedish, and German ties. HM’s family took great interest in music and literature. Initially, HM had no interest in academia but learned to read and play several instruments at a young age.
For fifteen years, HM lived and worked in London, at first, taking on Pizza Hut, and later, The Danish Embassy — as a cook. HM also graduated as an opera singer, designed costumes for a children’s opera, and managed more than one chamber music group. Painting in acrylics and watercolour was, and still is a favourite pastime, and HM exhibited her artworks in Guildford.
Starting while living in Denmark, HM alternately performed and taught singing, but never stopped writing poetry, short stori

Working title: Woes and Wonders
My work in progress is set in multiple locations, spanning from Japan to Denmark. It is set in the times of the Great War and continues through the interim between the two world wars. The two protagonists see the world through different experiences. One goes to China in the first days of the Great war and survives six years as POW in Japan. The other grows up in Copenhagen in a sheltered situation. When they meet and fall in love, they must face the results of dealing with their distinctive ideals as well as their differing family histories.
The book is loosely connected to Snares and Delusions, my debut novel.

Snares and Delusions, my debut novel, is set in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. It takes place mainly in Sweden and Denmark.
With regards to my inspiration and the reason I chose this period: it came naturally, partly because I find the Great War of interest today, partly because the Danish neutrality gave rise to peculiar incidents. Also, my family history raised many questions, which I haven’t found answers to. That gave me a free reign to invent actions and emotions. In other words, my ideas grew out of combined interest and a search for possible answers.
My work in progress covers the Great War seen from other perspectives and works its way through the interim between the two world wars.

Live and Let Live

Eden

Allow free spirits to soar and exult.

Our lives must be lived in a world of tumult.

Remember that strength comes from focus within

Was never procured through an unwholesome grin.

The thing that we love most another one hates,

And so, we find different ways to hells gates.

We stumble on Eden in unforeseen places:

Delight comes to those who allow seprate paces

But give way for oneness when fate tu

William Shakespeare
“Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring barque,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.”
William Shakespeare, Great Sonnets

Danail Hristov
“Human history is one prolonged and painful limping. We invariably step with one foot on the rock of justice, and with the other, we sink into the mire of deceit and self-delusion.”
Danail Hristov, The End of the Jesus Era

Danail Hristov
“God existed before every religion; He exists in spite of all religions.”
Danail Hristov, The End of the Jesus Era

Danail Hristov
“Every being, created by God and unspoiled by man, is perfect, strictly defined and autonomous, entirely complete and at the same time with a built-in ability to grow and develop. This is the essence of its dignity and holiness. It is not an embodiment of God’s immense Personality, but only one of the realisations of His perfection.”
Danail Hristov, The End of the Jesus Era

Kevin Ansbro
“Hugo turned to gaze upon the seemingly endless rows of books. Like humans, they came in all shapes and sizes: some were tall and slender, others squat and well upholstered, many were wrinkled with age.”
Kevin Ansbro, In the Shadow of Time
