 Robert Ben Rhoades.
​In the early hours of April 1st, 1990, an officer came upon a truck parked on the hard shoulder of I-10 with its hazard lights on. He knocked on the cab door, then opened it to a nightmare. A woman was chained to the bed in the sleeper area. She was covered in bruises, cuts and whip marks, and was gagged with a horse bit. The driver, identified as Robert Ben Rhoades, was calm and co-operative, handing over the gun he carried and allowing the officer to cuff him. Rhoades insisted his treatment of the girl was consensual.
But this wasn’t the case.
Digging deep into Rhoades’ past, authorities linked him to the disappearance and abductions of many young women. One picture found at his home depicted a young teenage girl in a barn. She was identified as 14-year-old Regina Walters, who’d disappeared whilst hitchhiking with her boyfriend in February 1990. This is the picture Rhoades took of Regina after cutting off her hair. He killed her shortly after and left her body in the barn.  Rhoades is believed to have anywhere from 4-50 victims over a killing career of 15 years.
He’s currently serving time at Menard Correctional facility. He’s 71-years-old.  ​Wayne Adam Ford.
​In November 1988, a man named Wayne Adam Ford walked into the Humboldt County Sheriff’s department. He was calm and rational, and remorseful. He told the officer on the desk that he was a killer and that he’d murdered four women. To prove his point, he produced a small bag from his pocket placed it on the desk.
It contained a woman’s severed breast.
What makes Ford different to any other serial killer is his remorse. The police weren’t even looking for him when he turned himself in. His victims hadn’t been linked and his name had never come up in any missing person’s cases. He told investigators his real rage was directed towards his ex-wife, who wouldn’t let him see his son. He claimed he’d turned himself in so not to leave his son an orphan.
Despite his remorse and the fact that he’d turned himself in, the gruesome details of exactly what he’d done to his victims led to a death sentence.
He currently resides on death row at San Quentin State Prison.  ​Dellmus Colvin.
​A convicted serial killer and long-haul trucker, Colvin murdered 7 prostitutes, strangling or suffocating them before dumping their bodies. Authorities believe he’s responsible for other murders. In a plea arrangement, he pled guilty to avoid the death sentence.  ​The Redhead Killer.
​ An unidentified suspected serial killer believed to be responsible for between 6 and 11 victims between the late 70s and early 90s. Many of the victims have never been identified.  All the victims had red hair and were dumped on the roadside near highways. Police suspected a trucker may be the killer, given the distance between the victims and the location of the bodies. Two suspects were arrested at different times, both truckers, but no charges were filed.  ​Oscar Ray Bolin.
​A serial killer convicted of murdering 3 women in the 80s and 90s. He was executed for these murders in January 2016.  ​Bruce Mendenhall.
​Convicted of one murder, Mendenhall is suspected of murdering 5+ women. He was arrested when a cop spotted his truck at a truck-stop. It matched the description of a truck spotted near the abduction site of a young woman. When police searched his truck, they found a ton of evidence and DNA samples of five different women. Since he’s been in jail, Mendenhall has also been charged with solicitation after he hired someone to murder a female whilst copying his MO, leading authorities to believe the real killer was still on the loose. Police are still working his case, tying him to murdered women from all over the country.

​John Robert Williams.
​A self-proclaimed serial killer, Williams has only been charged with one murder, though he claims to have killed over 30 truck-stop prostitutes. He’s currently serving a life sentence. Adam Leeroy Lane.
​Dubbed ‘The Highway Killer’ by the press since his crimes took place off the Interstate, Lane is serving multiple sentences concurrently for multiple crimes including: attempted murder, murder and breaking and entering. 
Sean Patrick Goble.
​A serial killer convicted of murdering two prostitutes in 1995. Authorities suspect him of many more murders, all similar methods and victims that are dotted along his trucking route. Police are still working his case. 
Robert Rembert, Jr.
​A suspected serial killer, Rembert is serving time for the murder of a young man nearly two decades ago yet is suspected of killing at least four other people. He is also a suspected rapist and thief.
 
Joe Metheny.
​Joe Metheny admitted to killing 10 people, men and women, and cutting up their bodies. He claimed he cooked and sold the meat to the public via a burger stand. He’s been charged with multiple murders and police are trying to tie him to other crimes, including some cold cases he’s allegedly confessed to Edward Surratt.
​A suspected serial killer thought by police to have murdered at least 18 people between 1977 and 1978. He is currently serving two sentences for the rape of a mother and daughter in their home. He’s recently admitted what the police have long suspected and confessed to six murders. The case continues. 
Keith Hunter Jesperson.
​A convicted serial killer also known as the ‘Happy Face Killer’, as he always signed letters to the media and prosecutors with a smiley face. Many of his victims were prostitutes or homeless. Convicted of nine murders, Jesperson claims to have murdered 166 people. Scott William Cox.
​This convicted killer is free, paroled in 2013. Sent down in 1993 for two counts of homicide, Cox is considered a prime suspect in over 20 unsolved homicide cases. His crimes were so devious, he was briefly suspected of being the Green River Killer prior to Ridgeway’s capture. 
James Robert Cruz.
​Convicted of one murder but suspected of eight more. Cruz is serving time for the murder of a 17-year-oldgirl, who was found raped and strangled, her body dumped on the roadside. Police immediately noted the similarities to other murders in the area. most of the victims were prostitutes. Tire tracks found near-by were analysed and tracked to a certain trucking company, which led to Cruz’s truck. Though he’s never been charged with any other murders, police are positive he’s the killer. Once he was arrested and imprisoned, all the murders stopped just as suddenly as they began. 
John Wayne Boyer.
Dubbed the ‘Long Haul Territory Killer’, Boyer is a convicted murderer and suspected serial killer. His rage appears to stem from an intimate hatred towards women, and prostitutes in particular. Convicted of two murders, he’s suspected of many more.
