An Attempt to be Earnest
It’s 5:13am and I have been awake for hours because I have a brain disease that rarely allows me to sleep for more than two hours at a time. Sometimes the first two hours is all I get.
But that’s not what I want to talk about. I just want to write earnestly about my feelings right now, on the edge of something exciting. I’m not good at being honest about my feelings, but floating in this space between exhaustion and giddy anticipation has made me weird.
I write sexually explicit queer romance nove...

I Regret to Announce I Have Killed My Darling
Sometimes a book just doesn’t work.
While writing each and every one of my books, I have hit a point (or multiple points) where the plot/pacing/tone etc. just weren’t working. It’s frustrating and discouraging, but I’ve always been able to push through. I doubt anyone who writes novels has never experienced this.
But sometimes a book isn’t going to work, no matter how hard I try. After nearly two years of trying to write the seventh Game Changers book (the Luca Haas book) I’ve finally admitted tha...

Heated Rivalry: Las Vegas Remix
Today is the fifth(!!!) anniversary of the release of Heated Rivalry and to celebrate I am sharing a little something. I’ve been asked quite a bit about Ilya’s thoughts and feelings during the “Las Vegas scene.” Specifically, readers have been interested to know where exactly Ilya was when Shane was waiting for him backstage at the NHL Awards. Now the question has been answered!
Thanks to everyone who read Ilya and Shane’s books, and who shared their love of them with me and with other readers. I...

I Have Good News and Bad News...
Actually what I have is good news, bad news, more bad news, good news (I hope) and more bad news.
First of all, I want to thank everyone who read Time to Shine, my first standalone novel and my first Christmas romance. I appreciate all the love the book received and I’m so glad people took a chance on Landon and Casey. I’m proud of the book, I love seeing it in stores, and I look forward to writing more standalone books. 2023 was an exciting year for me and my writing career, between the success ...

Time to Shine (and to update my blog)
By now you may have heard that I have new a book coming out in September called TIME TO SHINE. Hopefully you have also seen the beautiful illustrated cover, which I think perfectly captures the vibes of the story. I absolutely love it.

Countdown: A Smutty Shane and Ilya Short
This is a scene that got cut from The Long Game because I couldn’t elegantly fit it into the story. It was hard to cut because I think it’s a fun, sexy scene, but definitely, y’know. Indulgent. And a bit ridiculous.
So now it’s my holiday gift to you! Enjoy Ilya and Shane in a fun little sex scene set sometime during the Role Model season.

Role Model
Now that Role Model is DONE and the cover has been revealed, I thought it might be a good time to tell everyone about it, and a bit about the next book, The Long Game.
Role Model is the fifth book in my Game Changers series, and it stars Troy Barrett, who was a very minor c...

Common Goal, a sequel for Shane and Ilya, and more!
So, how’s everyone’s year going? Haha, just kidding. It’s a nightmare.
But even in these, um, challenging times, I have news to share about my smutty hockey books.
Just today it was announced that there will indeed be a sequel to Heated Rivalry! The Long Game will be book #6 in the Game Changers series. Just to be clear, this will be a full-length Shane and Ilya novel that will give them a more definite happy ending. More of a ‘happily ever after’ than a ‘happy for now’. I am very excited to have ...

The Definitive List of the 12 Best Christmas Recordings of All Time
It’s officially December which means, by my rules, it’s offically completely fine to listen to Christmas music non-stop for the next twenty-five days. Sadly, the season often finds me drearily pushing my shopping cart down the cereal aisle to the tune of a total bummer rendition of The Little Drummer Boy, or a horrifically shrill cover of Santa Baby, or, for whatever bizarre reason, a cover of Leonard Cohen’s decidedly not-a-Christmas-song, Hallelujah. There is no need for this. Not when...
