While writing my first (only so far) book, my content development editor said, "Cynthia, the stories you include are one-dimensional. You must tell us more about these women."

Writing 'stories' in my non-fiction book was not something I planned on.

Yes, I know, facts tell. Stories sell. But still, me? A storyteller? Sheesh. So, while working on the second draft, I ranted to my husband one day for 20 minutes. I explained that I really didn't need to finish this book. That it was fine to let it go. That I am not a storyteller. The editor is asking too much of me...

Then I had a strong cup of coffee, sat down, closed my eyes, and typed in the story of "Emma" in chapter 6. It was my last chapter. I like it the best. Why? Because I was able to complain, fume, and get all my frustration out. Next, I sat down and finished editing the chapter. Whew!(less)

How large is it? Let's just say it makes the roughly 20% corporate wage gap between men and women look like a walk in the park.

I pivoted my business to serve women entrepreneurs who want to grow by bringing in more ideal clients. Then I created a 5-step system to mentor women to talk so their potential perfect clients listen and take action.

Then I decided, reluctantly, that I needed to put my 5-step system into a book. It took me 23 months to write, "She Markets, A Guide for Women Entrepreneurs. The truth is, I didn't set out to be an author. But am so glad I did because my book can reach and teach women I may never meet.(less)
