Super excited to announce that part one of the second book is out as an ebook. It's the first thirteen chapters of Hayley and the Cat King. It picks up right after the epilogue of the first book and we hit the ground running as Hayley, Roy, Scott, Asher, Cylin, and Elion rush off to save the Cat King. Hope you enjoy.

Resume!

I feel that writing a resume, specially when one hasn't done it in a while, is one of the hardest one page document to create. It is just one page but this page must scream, "hire me I am the person you're looking for!" How do you stand out and at the same time show that you're qualified? I also feel that your resume changes drastically depending on the job you looking for. To give you an idea of what job I am currently making a resume for I will just come out and tell you. It's for the recreation and community service supervisor aquatics. Strange name I know but hey government loves to give strange names to every position. You know, to make everyone feel super important. I can easily do this job for i already do it with my lifeguard business. In all honesty, when reading the duties and responsibilities I do a lot more with my business than what this job as for, so doing this job should be a slam dunk.So then why is it so hard to write/finish this resume that I've been working on? I would say has to be fear. Fear that after I put together a butt kicking resume they will look at it and write me back 'nice try better luck next time.' I feel that rejection is what holds a lot of us back. I don't hold me back a lot of times, it's definitely one thing I'm trying to change about myself. But I'm gonna finish this resume, have several people look it over, tell me what to fix, not fix, tell me what's good about it and what's bad about it. And then at the end I will turn in. And I will think to myself, how much I hate writing resumes.

Spilling water! 11/2/18

Eli and Arifa wanted celebrate the end of the week by going out after work. She was nice enough to pick a place that was inbetween us, since I was driving from Simi Valley towards LA. We met in Glendale at a cool little place called The Famous. She really wanted to go there because the happy hour doesn't stop until eight. We had one cocktail and then decided to go have dinner down the street at Shake Shack. I don't know how we got onto the subject of Eli spilling all of his drinks when he was little but we were deep into that conversation. I was getting really involved reenacting my dads long winded speeches to Eli every single time Eli would spell his milk across the dining room table. Side note, there was a time Eli was forced to use a sippy cup at the age of six because my parents were so tired of him spilling at the table. Arifa asked why Eli would spill at the dinner table and I proceeded to reenact clumsy five-year-old Eli. My goal was a pantomime this but as the spirit of clumsy five-year-old Eli took hold of my very soul I proceeded to accidentally spill a full glass of ice water directly onto Arifa. I realized two things, the first being if you wave your hands around like a hyperactive spaz you will always spill your drink, and the second being that if I got a long winded speech for my dad at that very moment I would have a whole new bag of issues to talk to my therapist about.

Run Away 3rd Grader! 11/2/18

I've realized that I do not take enough pictures of myself whatsoever. I did several really fun things this weekend that should be put down in writing so I can remember it for the future but like always I don't write it nor do take any pictures. So this is the start of me trying to better document my life. It's not like anyone reads my blog anyways is just me be nice way to just categorize and label it did. Friday was the second and it started off as normal; eat, gym, work. The only interesting thing that happened at work was with the little third-grader. She had some issue during group game and ran behind the building to be alone. The issue with this is that she can't be alone. So I had a staff follower. The staff stayed with her for about 20 minutes not being able to get the child to rejoin the group, so I went over there to move things along. I told her that she had two choices she can come with me and hang out in the room, no one would bother her, and should be able to relax until she felt comfortable enough to go back with her group, or I would have to call her dad because she's not doing what is asked of her. She didn't respond to me, so unfortunately I had to go call dad. Now as soon as I started to walk away to go call dad she took off running. That poor staff had to go chase that child down. The staff followed the child across the school to a fenced off area. I caught up with the two of them and as I did so the little girl pointed at me and screamed at the top of her lungs. Once the bloodcurdling scream was done she then yelled, "you can't tell me what to do! When you sleep I will kill you! You can't control me!" I feel like a did what any normal adult would do when being screamed at by midget, I laughed. I then tried to talk to her/reason with her but nothing seemed to work and long story short dad finally came and took her home. There is no real point to the story but for the epilogue. A child is showing behavioral issues is really telling you that something within their life needs attention. I use attention because it's broad. Now I'm going to narrow it down. It's almost always home life. Something at home is going on in for this particular child her mother causing her to have behavioral issues. The night before this incident occurred her mother who was supposed to be the one that takes care of her, the one that loves her, the one that provides for her, left her at a McDonald's and called the dad to have her come be picked up. The mother wanted to go out with her newfound friends. When dad got the call he jumped in the car and drove right away to go pick his daughter out. By the time he got there mom had already left. When dealing with the child who is clearly not showing normal behavior at school, at clubs, at sporting events, etc. you need to understand that anger should not be your first response. Let them explode and wear themselves out but you should always talk to them clearly and precisely. You don't let them get away with their behavior because you need to educate them in how to handle how they're feeling better.

The timeline in Hayley and the Berserker King

I get a lot of questions about the timeline in the book. I realize that the first book only talks about it twice and that is it. So here it is in a little more detail. The timeline we read about is recorded by the elves. The elves break Terra's timeline up in parts. The first is the 'Dark Ages', all you know from book one is that all the races on Terra were at war. The war ended and that is the start of what the elves' call the 'Dawns'. It counts up from one, then ends when something terrible happens or ends. It is all from the point of the elves' so it is all based on what they think is important. The 'First Dawn' ends after the war with the elves and dwarves concludes with the signing of the First Treaty. Both the dwarves and the elves seal up all the fling ships, then the dwarves move to live underground. The 'Second Dawn' ends when the elves lose the war to the humans and escape to the land of the Fay, as know as Mahina. The 'Third Dawn' ends when the thief Hazel starts the First Kingdom. And the beginning of the end of the 'Forth Dawn' is what you mainly read about in the first book 'Hayley and the Berserker King'. Hope this helps the people that wanted more. Thanks for reading.
