I write the Jack & Bea's Survival Guide to Church series for 9-12 year olds, and out-of-the-box contemporary Christian romance novels set in Scotland.
I live in bonnie Scotland with my husband, three children and my sourdough starter, Doris.

So to get over it I go back to my plotting spreadsheet, or timeline and look at what I've missed.
Also, I tend to write my scenes out of order and then I place them where they belong later. So if I'm stuck on a specific scene, it often helps to write a different scene.
And finally, writing anything is better than writing nothing. So I'll give myself a target of writing 100words, and if that's all I can come up with, then at least I've got something to edit later.(less)

Start with writing a couple hundred words per day. As you get in the habit you might find it gets easier to write more and, even if it doesn't get easier, the quality of your writing will increase.
I find that if I have too high expectations of how many words to write, then the fun goes out of it. And if it's no fun to write, it likely won't be fun to read either. So set expectations you can meet without feeling stressed.(less)
