BEHOLD THIS BEAUTY!
One of the most fun moments for an author on their book's path to publication is when an email comes in from their editor, full of potential cover ideas and themes, and A Land So Wide was no exception.
Katie Anderson is the cover designer behind this eerie masterpiece and truly had me spoiled for choice as we looked through and considered possible picks. From haunting setting suns to forbidding mountains of pines, all of her original choices looked incredible. You know how Gordon Ramsey always says "This is the hardest choice I've ever had to make," regardless of whichever of his 18,000 shows he may be hosting/guest judging on?
This was that!
In the end, the unsettling set of upside down trees won our hearts! I made a couple of special requests for the bats and the horde of eye shines hidden throughout the cover. They give me the best little jumps scares each time I spot one and I can’t wait for you all to discover just what exactly is watching you from those woods…
A Land So Wide's fangs come out on September 9th— less than seven months away!—and is available for preorder now, wherever uncanny tomes are sold!
Behold its beauty here!

Synopsis
The town of Mistaken has a secret…
Mistaken is a tiny settlement in the beautiful but brutal Canadian wilderness blessed with rich natural resources—and cursed with unspeakable dangers. Just outside the town’s Warding Stones lurk the Bright-Eyeds, indescribable monsters who have rained utter destruction down on nearby villages. Mistaken’s founders made a deal to protect those who live there, but at a steep cost: anyone who spends a night within its borders belongs to it forever.
Until the day the man Greer Mackenzie loves disappears beyond the Warding Stones, pursued by a terrifying creature. Determined to rescue him, Greer must find a way to defy Mistaken’s curse and brave the cold and pitiless wilderness. But she is herself being hunted, not only by the ruthless Bright-Eyeds but by the hidden truths behind Mistaken’s founding and her own origins...
The deeply atmospheric adult debut from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of House of Salt and Sorrows and The Thirteenth Child is a stunning celebration of one woman’s relentless bravery on a quest to reclaim her lost love—and seize her own future.
