Fall is my second favorite time of year!

I’ve always loved fall. Not as much as winter of course but it’s has a very special place in my heart. Growing up in Texas meant that fall was the first break from 100 degree temperatures since the spring. And it was welcome. There’s a certain crispness in the air and a smell that only a fireplace can produce. Yes, before you ask, people do occasionally use a fireplace in Texas.

April Writing Update

What am I working on?

April, so far, has been a strange month for all of us.  Having to make all the adjustments for the new normal has been, interesting, to put it nicely.  While I can definitely say that I enjoy working from home, it has kind of zapped some of my go get it.  Its too easy to push things off when Im not in that rigid work setting.

Why I Chose Self-Publishing

my journey to being a published author

As long as I can remember Ive loved stories.  When I was little, my mom read me a Strawberry Shortcake book so much, that I memorized it and tricked my grandma into thinking I could read.  As I got older, my dad told me that I could have any book I wanted as long as I read them.  And I did.  So much that I was getting at least one book a week.

Hey!Before I give you the update for May, I wanted to say thanks for all the continued support. The Twelfth House is doing awesome, and I’m already getting some great feedback!The First House, Book 4, is well underway and I’m finishing up the last of what I call the preproduction stuff like the plotting, cover design (yes, I create my own covers), and blurb writing. I’m almost a full week ahead of schedule, so here’s hoping I can keep that pace!

First, I just wanted to give you a quick update about The Twelfth House. The third book in the series is a full-on battle with the mages. Ciara learns a lot about them and herself, but of course, there’s trouble she has to get through first!

I had a lot of fun writing this book, and I’m excited about where this series is headed. The book is with the editor now, which brings me to my major announcement… It’ll be available on April 30!
