Staying Inspired When You Feel Stuck

Theres not just one way!

Ive been asked several times, How do you keep the ideas flowing? I draw inspiration from the world around me, and I try to pay attention to different people and jot down anything that I find particularly inspiring in a notebook that I keep in mypurse. Keeping all of my ideas in one place allows me to sort through them at one time and when it is time to start drafting an outline, I can organize my thoughts. I also paint to help keep my right-brain activated. Many people believe that people who are right-brained are more creative whereas left-brained people are more analytical.

I also paint to help keep my right-brain activated. Many also believe that people who are right-brained are more creative whereas left-brained people are more analytical. According to science, we use both sides of our brain, and no one is solelyleft or right brained! Thats right, we all use ourWHOLE brain. Although science disagrees with me about me being right-brained, I paint to help me stay inspired. If you are looking for inspiration, I recommend you find something that you can relax while doing and zone out for awhile.

Whether it is painting, drawing, or something else that helps you, when your creativity tank is low, you have to take the time to refuel. If you are looking for inspiration, grab a paintbrush (or pencil/pen) and paint or draw whatever comes to mind. Dont feel pressured to do it right or feel like you have to know how to paint. The beauty of art is the artist (you) gets to decide what the final piece looks like and what it means!

How do you keep the creativity flowing? Tell me in the comments below.

So, I’m Writing a Book

Yep, you read that right. Im writing a book, and Im so excited to show the world what Ive been dreaming of since I was in middle school. Im also afraid.

What if you dont like it? What if I fail? Ever have these thoughts? Sure you have. And its ok. Weve all been afraid of what others will think. Its normal, at least thats what I keep telling myself. Whats not normal, is hiding our talents, thoughts, and dreams from the world because we are afraid of what others will say. So, Im writing a book. I sure hope youll like it, but if you dont, thats ok. At least I tried.

I hope you continue on this journey with me. I have about 1/3 of the book left to complete (eek!). Its almost complete, but there is so much to do and so much to learn. Who knew when I decided to finally take the leap, I would be getting a whole new education in self-publishing. I sure didnt, but Im enjoying the process.

So, more about the book, I know you want to know more right?

It is a Contemporary Romance with dark themes. Saving Savy is book one in the series. Hopefully, you will love Savy and Diablo as much as I do. They have been kicking me for years to tell their story.

Stick around for a sneak peek of the book in the next post. In the meantime, please follow my Author Page on Facebook.

Ill get back to writing so you can hurry and read Savy and Diablos story.

Later loves!
