Where Have You Been?!

"Where have you been?" Good question.I finished and released my last book last summer. Then I seemingly...disappeared. Only two-thirds of the way through my Trilogy too.For the most part of where I've been, it's usually referred to as "First World Problems." Not really any "good" reasons to leave my readers hanging for so long. So I apologize. And I will let you in on what has kept me from completing my work. For the most part, I overworked myself. I'd gotten advice that I needed to write and...

Another Family Affair Twist

I've touched before on how my family has been helping me write my books. My oldest loves to debate magical physics, try to catch plot holes, and suggest magical elements for me to use. And our littlest likes to suggest random things for me to include, in addition to giving me titles. Hint: in CONCEALED INFLUENCE, look for a bit about "You've got to be kitten me." You can thank my littlest for that.Only now, it's moved on to future works. And I must say, I never saw this development coming.Let...

Brand Spanking New Covers

I am so excited! My first two published books have gotten a fresh look with new covers. I love them so much. Of course, I loved the old covers too.My friend asked me why I changed them. You see, I made the first two covers. While I'm not a cover designer and have limited photo shop experience, I was still pretty happy with them. They, especially my first one, were gorgeous. However, while creating the cover for my novella, my husband and I realized it was taking too much time away from what I...

An Unexpected Helper

My novella, CORRUPTED BY MAGIC, is set to be launched on Mother's Day, May 13. This novella takes place between books one and two of The Magic Sanctuary Trilogy. Everyone has a story to tell, even the villain. You can find out some of Bradley's in this novella. My husband and oldest daughter try to poke to holes in my plots and characters developments. I think it's their new favorite past time. They also love to offer suggestions of things they want to see in my books. However, in a surprise tw...

Neglected Characters

My characters have stopped talking to me; I think they're feeling mad I had to set them aside to finish everything needed for the release of my new book. I've been working for two weeks straight with little sleep, but have not had time to fit writing in. Well, book writing. When I have gotten some downtime, I'm way too fried to work on a book. Now, I don't know if characters really speak to other authors in their heads or not. For me, it's more of a euphemism. When I'm in writing mode, I think...

The Magician

First off, super exciting news! My new book, CONCEALED BY MAGIC, is now out in both paperback and ebook formats.I have to give mad props to my husband, the magician. Without his magic, my book probably would not be out in any form yet. So, a huge shout out and thank you to him.You see, I'm fairly technologically impaired. Oh, I can tweet and Instagram, and even do the occasional extra, like set up this blog on my own. Beyond that, especially when you get into the intricacies of programs or an...

The Table of Contents and Laptop Debacle

My first post. Let me start by saying thank you for coming by and buckle up, Buttercup. Right now, I'm figuring out how to make a nice table of contents with hyperlinks for my book. It's the last piece of the formatting puzzle to put in place before I upload my book to Amazon and get a release date. It sounds like it should be easy. I mean, I'm not trying to write code here. YouTube makes it look easy, but my table doesn't turn out quite like those in the videos. Mine looks like an ugly convo...
